bolts are not going to pull the twist out of seasoned oak at that width. @jack how badly twisted are the boards? as when you flatten them prior to thicknessing them they are going to be a good bit thinner. if not fully seasoned they will then twist again as previously stated
-
i suppose if you're careful with them as lippings and veneer is a lot thinner https://www.oakwooddoors.co.uk/internal-door-oak-belize-untreated-new-for-2018

don't need to replace the tiles, they can be painted with gloss paint and a roller, far cheaper

Quartz worktop joint, is this acceptable?
Simplysimon replied to Triple07's topic in Kitchen Units & Worktops
FFS! that's appalling, i'm sorry to say. i don't think they'll come back, new worktop to get tap right, new units to replace butchered ones, they'll cut their losses and run. if i were you they'd need to run bloody fast. -
lots of reasons i don't buy black and yellow tools, now i know another ?

the wee house co. are part of hope homes. they make well designed homes built to a high standard, afaia they've built passive houses as well.

'll stick my head above the parapet and state the cavity shouldn't be filled. it's there for a reason and that's to stop water crossing to inner leaf. i know people who've done so with no problems and others who had to have it removed. it may depend on the type of fill and it may be ok 'dan sath' where it doesn't rain, ok it's been an unusual time up here! what type of fill were you going for?

The tale of the sale of our old house
Simplysimon replied to Jeremy Harris's topic in General Self Build & DIY Discussion
first house we sold, close to your old haunt of portpatrick, in stranraer, so glad i managed to get out! started with us doing the full on sell with spiel. it got to a viewing and we had friends round, pram in the hall, babies, toys out, the lot. spiel was, bedroom, kitchen, sitting room, have a wander round upstairs and we'll be in here if you have any questions. they bought. -
relatives did this, both worked and then on a saturday had to strip and clean 2 houses. as new holiday houses it took a while to get regular income. be aware of the potential income difficulties, cleaning costs if you don't do it and that you may not be able to let as anything else as a holiday rent so the winter cannot be a 6 month rental to get you through it. they sold up after a few years of hard work. it's a decision not to be taken lightly.

if there's already some mortar down, put down some DPM and concrete over the top to seal it.

could be anywhere! apart from the west coast of scotland, we've at least got scenery when looking out to sea.

the chinooks may shoot back but at least they don't shit on you, unlike the parakeets....

hope others have better luck with SA. I've been informed of the cost of a 12kw unit after chasing them up as i heard nothing, was told i'd be given a phone....nothing. phoned head office on friday morning, didn't get a reply until after 10am even though website says from 9am. asked about a showroom to see units, discuss project and told sorry no showroom. if it wasn't for this site saying how good it is then i would just dismiss the system. if it weren't for @Nickfromwales i don't think they would do any sales.
