Part L in Wales has been updated http://blog.celotex.co.uk/regulations/part-l-wales-something-worth-singing/

@DavidFrancis reading through the posts the article seems to have dubious referencing and numbers not tallying, didn't read the article tbh. looking at it from a practical side, one of the worst things you can do is cement render a sandstone wall whereas a lime render is fine.

lime breathes, cement/concrete doesn't, however, i'm sure you will be putting a dpm in whichever route you go down or am i picking up the wrong end of the stick?

i would think that 'the board' or 'railtrack' or 'successors', is meant to imply that if they have their name changed as in gpo to bt or post office depending as to how the existing company may be split up. british rail split to railtrack and the rest of the network.

you must use a lot of timber, we clean ours about every three weeks. -

@Alexphd1 it was a good price, can't really justify myself but if it had been a bit cheaper i would have! i recently bought a norsaw 1603, nice big 400mm blade, heavy bit of kit. as to the charnwood, it seems to be a competent saw, table seems a bit small. the other option is to buy an old 3phase and have the motor rewound to single phase.

fitted one of those, or at least its precursor many moons ago for a harley st. doctor in the back end of nowhere, didn't have an auto door but everything else hasn't changed.

@Alexphd1 if you can find one of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DeWalt-DW746-Sliding-Table-Taw/202226921926?hash=item2f15a9f1c6:g:ndsAAOSwcC1agfDj the best table saw and i'm not a fan of the black and yellow. one of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Elu-MOF177E-Type-4-Original-case-and-guides-Rarely-used/232684238515?hash=item362d0fb6b3:g:ks8AAOSwQSNamTI1 the original and superior to the dewalt/trend of the same body shape.

@bissoejosh i also looked at eps beads, couldn't find an installer willing to fill timber frame 'we do cavities, don't have a bba cert. for that', so sticking with cellulose.

Simplysimon replied to Ian D's topic in Energy Efficient & Sustainable Design Concepts
@Ian D i looked at beattie, signed up to go to their training session. got a quote from them to design a stick build that i would then build and canceled the training. i could buy a kit for the price of the design went along the route of an i beam construction reckoned in the end that it would be easier than twin stud construction -
hi @Ralph welcome to the forum, looking at the plans there is a big expanse of glass and at 2g this is going to be a big cold area if sitting near it. as others have said u values are ok but could be better and how you're managing to get everything to add up with that amount of 2g is going some, suppose that's the pv. you may be better looking at pvc and 3g unless you must have timber. i'm going with that ashp and ground floor ufh only

hi @Tin Soldier i can think of a couple of methods, however, your architect or se should be giving a bit more detail. nhbc details here http://nhbccampaigns.co.uk/landingpages/techzone/previous_versions/2011/Part6/section4/sitework.htm can give you some ideas

Estate Car to carry house doors inside, flat
Simplysimon replied to Ferdinand's topic in General Self Build & DIY Discussion
e class estate, i've run one for years. excellent load luggers with self levelling rear suspension. years ago the old h plate could take a large 3 seater settee to the dump with the rear door closed, luckily auto with my chest almost touching the steering wheel. my mate calls it the best looking van, and of course the roof bars allow 8x4 sheets to be carried.- 77 replies
