  1. Hi may be a bit trivial but can anyone suggest the best way to mount - stick a bathroom mirror 45cm x 60cm to tiled walls. - was just going to go for double sided gorilla tape but reading some very mixed reviews - Have 5 mirrors to mount and don't want to drill them - they are very slim so would just like to stick them on the tiles walls above the basins. Thanks in advance for any recommendations Trish.
  2. Can anyone recommend a suitable paint, the windows were ordered the wrong colour by the PM. It was picked up before delivery and we were advise by the PM he would put it right at his expense. We assumed he would advise the supplier and have them painted correctly prior to delivery. However he had them delivered the wrong colour now trying to paint them with the Demi Dekk paint
  3. Long story but our new aluminium windows need to be painted. Our PM has purchased Jotun Demi Dekk Ultimate - however I can only see that this is a paint to be used on wood. What would be the implications of using a wood paint on aluminium TIA for any feedback x
  4. Hi can anyone recommend a firm to carry out Cavity Wall insulation on a property in Central Scotland. Made a few enquiries to localish companies but not one has bothered to reply.
  5. Hi thanks for your reply. I am gutted about this.
  6. Hi looking for a bit of advice /feedback. We are renovating a house and work with a project manager. We selected new windows for our house and they have just been delivered. Aluminium on the outside and wood on the inside. I have just been down to see how things are progressing as they are being fitted today and have found that the window fitters (not employed by the window company but hired separately by project manager) and they appear to be screwing the windows into the opening leaving huge holes in the frame which I am being told will be filled and painted over. It looks awful and I am so shocked it has been done this way. Came home to where we are living at the moment and have a similar set up and cant see a single screw hole in site on the windows. Can anyone tell by looking at the photo if this was the only way this could have been done. Please don't mention that fact that there is a clear glass window in a bathroom (that is another conversation). TIA for your replies,
  7. Hi I will take a look when I am there today. If I can remember there is only 1 drain point. Was hoping there may be someone on here with a similar set up that might have a leak proof roof.
  8. We are in Scotland - no chance of an open air pool. ? On/Off The Roof does have a drain point.
  9. Thanks how would we stop the elements getting through the slabs.
  10. Hi do you have any local independent kitchen suppliers - we got a really great deal with one (family based) who supply German made kitchens - as they were an independent business we were able to "negotiate" a really good price
  11. Hi thanks for replying - Im not really sure the previous owners said they had it replaced about 5 year ago - looks like mesh and concrete then some sort of sealant painted over it. The sealant is peeling to the point you can see the mesh underneath. Our builder is looking to do a similar repair using top of the range products (the previous job looks like is was done very poorly) - but I wondered if there was alternatives that are going to be long lasting.
  12. Hi we are in the final stages of renovating our house, we are now turning our attention to the flat roofed veranda - underneath this is a pool, which has not been used for sometime due the condition of the room it is in. The current flat roof has leaked for a number of years and we are now looking to replace it. I would welcome you suggestions about the best way to water/weather proof this area - it will be used a lot so not just a roof. I have attached a photo so you can see the scale of area I am talking about .
  13. Hi other than the usual high street names - Tile Giant - etc can anyone recommend a good source/supplier for tiles. I am initially thinking porcelain but not fixed on that. Looking to tile bathrooms (floor and wall) and a kitchen, family room area. I have a fairly extensive area to cover so would be looking for someone that would offer discounts if possible. Thanks in advance for any info x
