  1. these are 30mm, however, an electric planer will lose 7mm off the top and 7mm off the top alternatively one of these is 9mm but used for an internal cill but should be ok outside
  2. costco stuff is usually good quality https://www.costco.co.uk/search?text=Laminate Flooring what sort of guarantee do the others offer?
  3. even i wouldn't have classed that as inconsequential 😂
  4. get on with life, it's too short to worry about inconsequentials 🙂
  5. apparently rolls royce do something similar in their headlining, you are obviously a lot closer to your headlining than the roof of your pergola so may not have the same impact. btw you can still afford to heat and run a hot tub?
  6. +1, gun stays clean as well
  7. unfortunately the ridge tiles are only part of the problem looking at the lead work on the dormer cheek. when you had the roof re-felted did they add insulation at the same time?
  8. batteries here have no idea if costs are good or not
  9. as on another post, composite posts at 3m, this would allow you to continue it up past the deck height as a corner post for handrail. if it was possible to to keep at or above 800mm above the deck then you would be close to 900mm for handrail. BTW as you're now north of the wall noggins become dwangs 🙂
  10. +1 we bought our dishwasher from comet auctions (scratch and dent) long before they went bust, it's still going strong and as has been stated sorting the cutlery into sections means you can pick up each section in one go and put it into the drawer.
  11. yes, but you said wood should look like wood, hence the reason i said it looked like keruing. i did read the post🙂
  12. depends on style of door, lippings can be ripped off, door sized and lippings dressed on the back and replaced.
  13. who made the stairs?, as the top tread or bottle, as we call it up here should be a good bit wider than the one you have. normally about 50-70mm but i would have ensured it covered the steel and was able to be fixed to the timber.
  14. looks like keruing, now that is a pig to use.
  15. https://ductsealuk.co.uk/sealing-process/ used for sealing duct work but can't see why it shouldn't be used in a house
  16. save your money, fair chance they will wash upwards under the tiles, walk up the roof while doing so and break a good few tiles. you will also be removing the top layer of cement which will have the result of making the tiles even rougher and therefore gather moss more quickly. the sealant doesn't/can't sink into the tile and will sit on the surface and wear off relatively quickly.
  17. yup, south ayrshire, 1m from the coast. part of the view from nearest beach arran not in the picture but it's just off to the right. weekend weather
  18. well we sure as hell ain't going to call you a glazier 😂
  19. well i got this, and they've just installed fibre along the front of the house, according to openreach it will be done from apr '21-'26
  20. +1 here as well, would also suggest slate hooks for the vertical slates to stop them chattering in the wind. TBH would recommend slate hooks for any slating job.
  21. the other thing with the EE unlimited sim is you can gift data to another EE sim
  22. we're getting it tomorrow and tues, just in time for return to work
  23. bead - spirit level, no idea why but that's what's the term is. yes, though ony 26-27 up here, still too hot for us, we're not built for heat up here.
