  1. @canalsiderenovation thanks for the recommendation, utility point have very competitive rates but lots of reviews saying they overcharge and fail to refund customers so beware.
  2. I have a few of these which I use around the house, not sure how accurate but cheap. I find them good as UFH is a completely different animal to radiators so it’s difficult to “feel” heat. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Digital-Electronic-External-Thermometer-Body-Room-Food-Cooking-Display-Aquarium
  3. @zoothorn why do you call the orange stuff shite?
  4. Bigger springs?
  5. NO, I meant the squirrel catapult, far more important than keeping warm ?????
  6. Love it, come on @zoothorn, get busy.
  7. I would not know ?‍♂️. Always makes me laugh when people say “tastes like shit“, how do they know ?
  8. Brexit news this morning hints that it’s only fishing that is left to agree on. Let’s hope!
  9. I considered this but could save more money elsewhere, mdf skirting is relatively cheap IMO.
  10. That’s no way to talk about our Sarah !
  11. Having dealt with planners in the past ? I would do as @PeterW says above and send copies to their solicitors via recorded delivery and keep copies.
  12. I bet it’s still finished before @pocster ,s place ?.
  13. Very nice, Well done ?
  14. I bought two of these (to go with my vintage tractor)
  15. yup, been there done that, whilst fighting fir my planning permission I used my JCB to do work in my field and general work on my plot, not building related, my neighbour from hell called our planning officer out So many times that in the end I rang him EVERY MORNING to tell him what I planned that day, he stopped coming despite the calls ?
  16. Can you get details from that transformer in the kitchen?, voltage, model etc?
  17. I had a height restriction but the planners never came back (fir anything).
  18. Did anything come with the kitchen fir it to plug into?, transformer?
  19. Mine was not slab but we are on solid yellow clay, we backfilled our foundations with 50mm drainage stone as a French drain and a pipe to a local drainage ditch and it works very well.
  20. When I was fighting for my planning permission the planners kept referring to my neighbours roof height, so I measured it (when they were out) and it’s 1200mm higher than the plans said and they never noticed that???. I think you will be alright unless it’s obvious like @PeterW says above.
  21. I see no reason why, that’s one of the major factors using an existing site, services exist. You will not be touching their pipes, just extending/altering yours (hopefully)?
  22. breath deeply, count to ten! NO, you need to point it out to him that it is not right (like the tap!), give him the chance to put it right and if he cannot, you will get it done BY A PROFESSIONAL and send him the bill. Don’t pay him till you are satisfied by everything.
  23. Not in my opinion, the church just did what they thought was best, it appears their Engineer wrote the bollocks and your Survey proved that. On the other hand if you try to get the money from the church THEY will pass the “fault “ to their engineer.
  24. yup, hope you have not paid him yet, proper cowboy in my opinion.
