  1. that's not ambiguous. Someone should tell them.
  2. Well I did get wet ?, whilst digging with my JCB to get my new supply pipe ready fir connection next to a neighbours meter, one of the bucket teeth caught their incoming pipe and ripped it out of their meter. Imagine a 15ft fountain with a very soggy chap (me) desperately trying to clamp the pipe deep in the mud (no pavement). Like @Hilldes the supply pipe was being fed into the meter the “wrong way round” and a loop of pipe existed where I was digging. It seems funny now but not at the time.
  3. 50+ db is not acceptable IMO. I wonder how the “rules/law” can deal with this edit, just found this on the gov website....... Permitted noise levels The permitted noise level using A-weighted decibels (the unit environmental noise is usually measured in) is: 34 dBA (decibels adjusted) if the underlying level of noise is no more than 24 dBA 10 dBA above the underlying level of noise if this is more than 24 dBA from. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/noise-nuisances-how-councils-deal-with-complaints
  4. Why does Parliament move between Brussels and Strasbourg? monthly move of the European Parliament between Brussels and Strasbourg costs European taxpayers €200 million per year. another reason to vote leave.
  5. just one of the reasons I voted to leave. ?
  6. an article on the tv last night from someone who deals with all things “trade” said most industries already deal with the rest of the world so are up to speed on what’s required. Also John Harvey Jones said in an interview way back before the vote that industry on the whole will survive despite what any government does.
  7. Without getting into the “he said, she said” etc etc, it’s funny how none of the doom and gloom predictions after the Brexit result were announced have come true, I believe the same will happen after the end of the year, whichever way it goes.
  8. Zoot, I have these in my workshop roof and I have tons of stuff up there as storage.
  9. well our Jeremy did all his calculations (not like me) and because of his micro climate he found after that he needs more cooling than heating which was a surprise. I did no calculations, loads of insulation, guessed at the heat load (pinched Jeremy’s ) and all I know is ours is cheap to run and comfortable all year. P.S. I was told that our conservatory, facing South would overheat the house and it has not, it’s a great space which we use a lot, most of the year.
  10. or buy an old caravan and clad it ?.
  11. OOPS, well who would have thought that, lucky escape. Can you not turn the Toby round a bit so it’s pointing more in the right direction?
  12. Well said, ?
  13. but that is true of all voting, elections etc, it can only be different if voting was compulsory .
