  1. As previously stated We moved in Dec 7 and was signed off May 9 We had been paying Counsul tax on a reduced rate for 9 months before we moved in Without Electric gas or water Then full tax for three months before moving in Gas and electric connected a month before moving in We held back mainly because we had 15 k to spend on drive materials We clearly stated our moving in date and it was never questioned Vat claim was paid in full we were more concerned at the length of time we had been forced to pay Counsul tax
  2. To be fare most sites I go on the hangers are fixed by the plastered with on clout nail prior to plastering For some reason the joiners who put the roof on tack the onto the wall plate But seem to think fixing them to the wall should be done by others
  3. Bed the wall plate down Fix tge straps the following day I wouldn’t worry about clashing with studs
  4. Think we paid around a £500 3 years ago Basic liability No plant or cabins Protek
  5. I’ve just finished framing and plastering a site and they did exactly that Plastering finished Mist coat Laminate Kitchen on top Apartments starting at 250k for one bed Not something I’ve ever done Builder reckons they have done it for years
  6. If you are on clay and sand like we were Three holes will just equal three ponds and a chunk of money wasted SE pointed this out to planners and they said ok no need
  7. The Counsul tax can kick in at anytime As some have found on here Including myself Your BC completion certificate is the one that starts your countdown for your vat claim We we’re living in our pretty much compete house for five months before we asked BC to do the sign off cert
  8. You may also try metal frame Quick and easy to install This is one I installed on our house

  13. Nice one Dave Thanks
  14. Sat twiddling my thumbs while the plot purchase goes through Can anyone recommend sites where I can plot out the nearest utilities
  15. We thought that also and the HMRC confirmed it was down to end usage Whike some are apartments Others parts are being used as workplaces We also have this when doing student accommodation new builds some are zero Some are reduced rate If the University is retaining its zero If it’s being past onto investors It’s chargeable Ive no idea of this when invoicing So charge on all The list goes on
  16. I mentioned this on here a while back A friends father has a dairy farm and gave him and his sister a barn to convert to two homes To cut a long story short they had planning difficulties and brought in a consultant That advised that they father may be liable for tax on the finished homes They ended buying the barn from there father to stop this happening
  17. I don’t think most of the office staff dealing with invoices understand VAT I been doing the framing on a mill for the past four years Some of it is 5% vat some 20% Same site same building
  18. It’s often difficult to get these companies to reduce or even Zero rate They don’t always understand the vat I had trouble getting the gas Conections to zero rate They did eventually Same problem with electric Conections Told then Gas have They OK no problem As I say because the previous 50 customers have paid full It doesn’t mean you have to
  19. It can mean a.number of things One thing we did have to do Was run several cube of concrete under the block and beam floor that fell to a.central drain This would keep the house clear of water should the garden and contents of the treatment plant flood
  20. A reasonable plasterer would cover 30 boards per day 80m2 7am to 230pm Three mixes A quick one will do 100 3.25 m2 The baring rates are just behind the skimmers and a day per house quicker Forget plastering courses I’ve taken lads on that have done 12 months corses Not always neat enough for sight work and far to slow You need to be careful that your not paying day rate for someone doing 40 M2 per day You don’t need to pay out for a labour We just pre fill all the joints and beads then tip four or five bags into a tub three times a day 30 minutes of mix 15 washing out Stood watching for the rest of the time I do have a gang that load PB £1 gf 1.5 1st floor They often out earn them plasterers Peters spot on with spraying You still need to finish the plaster But also not worth the masking up on something like a house
  21. Normally 8 metres on houses But I wouldn’t bother on a workshop While I added expansion joints every 8 metres on the house I didn’t bother on the two 9 mtre square garages I built Both signed off by BC
  22. Crazy when we did the planning for the one that we are in 3 years ago I could speak to planners Cil etc All online this time I don’t think it will make things easier
  23. They almost certainly sub the work out The vat will be on the materials Ask them to Invoice you for the materials With a separate bill for fitting and then claim the vat with your vat claim
