would it need any mesh or mechanical fixing or would the render bond to the ICF?
-
flush hinges would work

I would imagine the frames could pay a big part in it?

Structural Engineer Not Providing Connection Detail
Vijay replied to SteveMack's topic in General Structural Issues
I don't know if it's the norm, but I got all the details for steels/connection details and rebar from my SE -
Ditto, mine were done by weight too, no charges for the bending

Looking for a recommendation for a SE near North London Mill Hill
Vijay replied to Sally's topic in Surveyors & Architects
Hi Sally, I only live down the road from you in NW2 Any reason you want a local one? Pretty sure most do most of their work by email anyway. Do you actually need site visits? Vijay -
@LSB This is the info Carol gave me: We cover most of the East of England and Northamptonshire, as long as the pump has less than a 2 hour journey we are happy to travel them. Currently we have pumps located in Kings Lynn, Whittlesey, Alconbury, Peterborough and Thetford with sizes ranging from a 16m boom pump to the 42m boom that you had yesterday. Obviously you might not get Josh as the operator, but if the areas work for you, give Carol a call, she really is super helpful

If you need a pump, I can highly recommend these people https://www.mkandrewsconcretepumpingltd.co.uk/ Speak with Carol (she will know who I am and look after you) and ask for Josh who was amazing on my last pour

If you contact Octopus, make sure your check your usage is what they actually quote you on. They were far from honest when I got a quote with them, by adjusting my estimated usage much lower to give me a competitive price, which meant into my contract I'd have been over paying. I didn't like that they only told me that when I pushed for a reason.

Had this one for years, easily cleans rollers and leaves them fluffy. They also do one for paint brushes https://dandytools.com/product/dandy-pro-paint-brush-cleaner-paint-roller-cleaner/?gclid=CjwKCAiA_9r_BRBZEiwAHZ_v1w7BQkvHiLqzj-X_bxGxnFk4rGbkmj-OUMQgrMHu2evAYFG67l1yiRoCNBEQAvD_BwE

I'd have thought a larger soffit increase the room size though?
-
is the size of the soffit reflected on the rafter timber size and if you have a room in roof?

Just a clueless question, but could the reason that oil is used anything to do with expansion? -
Our plumbing saga.... Advice please.
Vijay replied to canalsiderenovation's topic in General Plumbing
will he want to come back for £600 though? He could make that in a couple of days on another job -
Being able to wear a T shirts and shorts in the middle of winter in my house is a goal that keeps me going! lol
-
so what happens when you lay wet blocks?
-
I went with Marmox Thermoblocks which are being delivered tomorrow
-
No I was thinking the capped stuff as you thought would be easiest
-
My future plans were conduit, maybe giving more chance of pulling a cable through if ever needed again

Don't think tubs will be a real option for me if there's a small shelf life. I'm not on site every day and weather rarely seems to be on my side. Plus add the fact I'll be laying blocks at my own slow pace lol So looks like mixing on site is the best option for me. Thanks for the info Gus. I had in mind that if I can lay min 50 blocks a day, I'd be happy as it's enough to see progress. Any more is just a bonus You're last point about what type of wall it is, it's a load bearing wall in 7.3nm 100mm blocks

Not sure I will have enough left over to make the extra bracing towers, but I'll certainly take that on board if I have spare, especially on the larger gable I have
