  1. Give the shower head a clean with shower head plus every 3 months or similar to kill anything in this area, personally I would do a risk assessment on the property if you had any concerns
  2. Yes was just Offering as a short term easy /easier fix
  3. PVA once applied and dried if it gets wet will start to loose adhesion, SBR doesn’t so it’s a better choice
  4. Quadrant tile as a temp solution?
  5. Found this incase it’s helpful for anyone else https://vivatraining.co.uk/blog/training/how-to-range-rate-a-boiler/
  6. Found the installation and commissioning manual at the boiler as it’s also the bench mark service manual. however it then refers to engineers service manual which i don’t have/ I can’t find online WB high flow 550 boiler☹️ it’s trying to makes sense of the 2 x 7 segment led display
  7. can I please ask how to range rate a boiler, only a term I have heard the past year or so! appreciate it’s different for every make model
  8. my meter is single rate too, but you get half hourly data with Octopus Go and they factor in 4 hrs cheap rate
  9. Well waiting another 3 months is no hassle, just means the payment will be double bubble so all good, it now goes to paying energy bills anyway( used to go towards maintenance of the house) I’m with Octopus so now getting 21% off the night time rate and I think it was 7% off the day time rate. really do like dealing with Octopus, th only company that I could give positive feedback!
  10. Mine too, I forgot to submit the reading by 1 day and they no longer accept readings, SSE would accept readings any time!
  11. Personally I would have them closer than 600mm, for the reasons ProDave advises I’m more a 500mm in from the edge for shadowing
  12. If you have Wi-Fi , the ring stick up camera is good value. decent imagery, motion notification, verbal warning of coming into selectable section zones. Takes a few minutes to set up on the app and away you go, under£4 monthly fee
  13. Fit an fused unswitched spur
  14. It’s the ‘ground’ the timber batten to let you nail a skirting to the wall, if it’s not required, remove and fill as others have advised too
  15. The unit marked man cave could be moved up a bit and the. Henley blocks ( top left item) could be moved underneath the man cave unit, freeing up the space above the existing meter for a larger meter if required. The blue and brown conductors going into the man cave unit require a second layer of insulation, or could be changed to suitably sized double insulated tails..
  16. Mr muscle foaming cleaner to get rid of the soap scum build up, one reason why we always use 50mm pipe! boil the kettle and chuck that down too!
  17. Get a joiner to cut some hatches in the floor, see what it’s like under the floor. hatches should be big enough to aid dehumidification and let you see nay mould growth. drop a few temp/humidity sensors down there, Shelly do a good range that are Wi-Fi enabled
  18. Nope manufacturers instructions advise that temps should be below 40 Deg C to ensure optimal operation the operating temperature range is -25Deg C to +60 Deg C
  19. My system has been in the loft for 10 years with no dramas. rafters directly above the inverter had kingspan type insulation fitted between them. if I was more worried I would connect to smoke detection and maybe fit something like this https://www.fusebox.shop/products/consumer-unit-fire-protection-system?variant=39850464739411&currency=GBP&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI9eS0wf-w_gIVl7PtCh3tAwYwEAQYAyABEgJWmvD_BwE
  20. The smart meter will be the same size as the existing meter so no drama there. only issue will be the man cave KMF unit as it looks like single core on display. you will need the fuses as the cutout fuse only protects the first 2.5/3m( DNO dependent)
  21. Fit isolation valves into the system to break it down into smaller areas, these are also helpful for future maintenance use full bore type not crappy Screwfix 60pence ones!
  22. Get crawling in the space and have a look!
  23. when you supply materials and they don’t turn up you are still paying for a wasted day, and this excuse will be used to get ‘extras’ onto the final build. it then knocks onto other trades, who with the builder would maybe be willing to let it go for you a one off they are charging for the time wasted too. specify the product you want and let the builder get it.
  24. Can’t offer any help but make sure the metal work is not rusting, the rust expands the hole the metal work sits in , leading to a route for water. what about lithomex https://heritagestonemasonedinburgh.co.uk/our-work/lithomex-stone-repairs-edinburgh/
