What would you do differently if you could do your PV install fresh?
TonyT replied to Gill's topic in Photovoltaics (PV)
currently consuming 1.5 watts according to the energy meter on the EV charger feed. its 9 pence during the cheap slot compared to 38pence(ish) so definitely worth charging at that cheap time -

A coat of watered down pva would be the cheapest option then just coats of normal emulsion, splash the cash on masonary paint if you want. any expanding foam will do the trick, smallest can possible, or line up a few jobs and do lots at one time. -

Do you have chimney pots? -
Maybe there should just be a qualification similar to working on gas boilers, fire etc and a card like gas safe or the Sjib/jib card electricians have, I recently sat the EV installation course, doesn’t make me an expert but covered the safety requirements to do a good design… and take away MCS registration

Why wouldn’t the architect not advise to leave a gap? why wouldn’t the builder not advise that the architects drawings were rubbish to the client. seems like no one with any sense volunteered any info client may or may have been an arse but that’s not the point, you do the build, you get tarnished too -
Data cable too probably unless the unit works off 4G personally I would fit ducts to proposed positions, pull in cable such as EV ultra, or separate Swa/ data.

Dehumidifier in damp house to speed up plaster drying time
TonyT replied to Adsibob's topic in Plastering & Rendering
Not worth the risk, crack open some windows and get some through air movement. keep the dehumidifier for drying the clothes or after a leak -
Can’t really see the drawing. Maybe inside the plant room, so that running subsequent services are easier? borh my gas and electricity meters are inside the house and I never found it an issue
