  1. Have a look here: https://www.apeer.co.uk and remember that putting a standard lever handle on will make anything look more conventional...
  2. Exciting times are coming. Kieran the TF guy visited on Tuesday to check things over. One of the bends on the lane is a bit tight for the artic he reckons (it's a biggy with a moffat hanging off the back) so he'll send the kit on rigids instead to be safe. Baseworks all well to spec- nothing more than 5mm out anywhere. Recent heavy rain proved the capabilities of our new drain, a good flow into the sheugh and much less lying. I did see one area that was holding water a bit readily so put a wee trench in to sort that. Just need to put a bit of stone in and cover it up again. So scaff up next week, a skip to order in, and we're ready for the arrival.
  3. straight valves look like a winner here. If you had've been closer you could have gone with long tails eg https://www.bes.co.uk/trv-tail-extension-chrome-15mm-x-60mm-21357
  4. yup, you can have any size tank you want, you'll just wait for a small pump to top it up.
  5. ^that's a thermostatic power shower, Nick. Not electric...
  6. what's a "standard" size?
  7. So we've a larder/pantry off the utility. It's pretty much an unheated space as I see it so no UFH pipes in the screed and quite possibly a VCL and a bit of PIR under the PB all around. I'd like to engineer in a fresh air supply to it. Now obviously the utility has an MVHR extract in it so convincing the air to flow isn't a problem. I've also no issue with making the supply sealable for AT test/ or if found unnecessary. As this is a TF and has a (well) ventilated cavity between frame and blockwork, are there any rules that would stop one from taking the supply air from the cavity instead of breaking through the outer skin? Fire regs maybe? Thinking of a small (2 or 3 inch) duct through the floor insulation rather than a full-on periscope and 4" soil kinda setup...
  8. I've been sticking at it for about 27 years now...
  9. I hate trade counters. I need to be in a *real* panic for something to go to a plumbing or electrical counter. Wait in line to try and explain to a spotty youth what I'm looking for then find I'm invoiced 30% over the odds because I'm a walk-in vs predictable pricing from bes/ screweys/ random ebay punter? Uh, no.
  10. I'd caution that to get a *true* 15cfm you'd likely be looking at a 4hp singlephase machine. I normally see 3hp machines as about 13 on a good day... What kind of pump is it you need to run off air, and for how long at a go?
  11. Should there not a be a split collar to spring over the flange and retain the nut?
  12. are the two wires just Live and Neutral maybe?

what's the difference between the normal "blue" multiconstruction and the unpainted "tile/ceramic" ones? Tip pattern looks very similar. like these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Bosch-Hex-9-Ceramic-IMPACT-CONTROL-SET-8-PIECE-SET/172798420362?hash=item283b96a58a
  15. would the power input include backup immersion elements perhaps?
  16. Fig 1 in the document has a layer of PIR over the studs and is agreed?
  17. descaler won't fix a leaking seal.
  18. ^didn't you already test for that tho, as Dave recommended?
  19. we did most of the site in 4" crushed rubble, then a strip around the footprint blinded as a nice firm base for the scaff. Everyone that visits remarks on how clean and level it is.
  20. same charts are supplied for diggers too.
  21. what kind of cowl? Was there a HETAS or BC signoff?
  22. Any baffles in the top of the stove that could be distorted or fitted incorrectly?
  23. Wow. Did they know it was a newbuild?
  24. No, I was impressed. Grey/white pvc, 13 2g windows (inc. front windows at 1800x2400), plus composite front door with sidelights, french doors with sidelights, back door. Well under 7k installed.
