  1. I'd opine that the stuff that's really "pollution" will whizz straight through anything up to a classical HEPA filter.
  2. because it's not heat, it's quantity of stored energy.
  3. which system are they quoting? Standard/ultima/tek?
  4. don't you feel responsible?
  5. Yes. Two hours wasn't long enough... When you turned the heating ON the room was either too hot or too cold. Ergo no heat or lots of, in the rad. If you'd left the heating on for longer (and also assuming the rads were all set up with the correct Delta T via the lockshield, as should've been the case but probably wasn't...) then as the room approached the setpoint of the TRV flow would have reduce and thus the Delta T across the rad. The adjustment of a TRV to set room temperature is pretty subtle.
  6. As I previously said, the *STAT* is a wax or oil powered analogue device and does NOT slam open and closed as you describe.
  7. No, a TRV is liquid or wax filled just like the thermostat in a car.
  8. you do realise the TRVs aren't binary but modulate flow and thus rad temp?
  9. There's a lot to be said for the Solartwin- style system. Freeze-tolerant but can be setup to drain back, boil-on-stagnation tolerant too.
  10. thought so. External walls are battened out also so they'll need it too. Ho-hum.
  11. Yup, studs up as part of TF kit.
  12. chasing some thoughts on this please @PeterW @nod?
  13. Renusol ground-mount PV housings https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Renusol-Console-buckets-for-roof-ground-mounted-solar-panels/133060479570?_trkparms=aid%3D1110001%26algo%3DSPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131231084308%26meid%3Dc0c45acb5dca4d568f8639a017eaab60%26pid%3D100010%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D183535318359%26itm%3D133060479570&_trksid=p2047675.c100010.m2109
  14. presuming it's not an electronic switch of some kind (Hall or somesuch) I'd say your reed switch is failing. You could try "cleaning" the contacts by applying a higher-current load, or trying them in a DC circuit.
  15. what about a couple of clamp-on hinges?
  16. ... which is why checking with the BCO is best value.
  17. it's a cavity closer, so corners, eaves, and horizontally at FF level IIRC. Check with your BCO.
  18. try Kerrs in Kilrea if you haven't already.
  19. No such stipulation here in NI, and our site is in an AONB with the outflow passing by local streams into an ASSI
  20. what size/ shape is the current chamber? How many PE do you need as a replacement? We went for a Solido Smart but I don't know how anything could be £2k cheaper...
  21. KISS would be a neon and stuff'em!
  22. Yup. super for tacking onto OSB, more challenging aiming onto a rafter or such. A £4.99 cheapie is doing that job for me.
  23. If screed before PB is the consensus, how does one approach the scenario where screed depth is greater than the thickness of an internal stud's soleplate? The PB ends need something to be screwed into etc, so do we cut short sections of timber and place between the studs or is there some other cunning plan?
  24. I've forks on my TB125. A couple of hundred kilos up to the first lift is realistic, as the forks weigh a fair bit themselves. The range of angles the fork head can work within limits options a bit too. Twenty block on a pallet onto the scaff? yup. A dozen PV panels on a pallet out the side door of a Sprinter? yup. A full pallet of insulation rolls, on the bed of a BM's wagon? nope. I'd note also that a maxibag of materials is OK off the boom on this size of machine too. My smallest digging bucket has two teeth on and is very handy for hanging a bag off...
