  1. That will depend on the developer and whether they have any covenants or clauses in the sale documents.
  2. Tend to be used on potable supplies so that you don’t get leaching into drinking water of the other compounds in the brass. No point unless you’ve got very acidic water in your heating system which the inhibitor would go some way to resolve.
  3. Could be pump cavitation. Try turning it down.
  4. It’s not the principle elevation and assuming you’re not in a conservation area then no, you don’t need planning permission. Building regs will be needed for the garage conversion so just add the door to that and do as one single application.

  9. As above, boiler could cope (just check the flow curve to get a decent heat input at 20l/min) but I expect your issue is primary flow and you’ll be maxed out at 12 anyway so consider low flow shower heads first before you spend on pumps.
  10. Depends on location of the plant room or manifold ..? Just one one where they go through the wall, up the inside (in insulation) and then through the first floor void and back down from the ceiling into the plant room. Could have ducted through the floor but UFH pipes made it easier to just do the route we did.
  11. Can’t use a booster on mains where it could create negative pressure or draw more than 12l/min - have to use an accumulator. Two showers running will be more than that flow I expect.
  12. They tried. Sanyo had them in the market over 10 years ago and we had one installed on a commercial build. Nightmare to get spares for and need lots of specialist tools and equipment to service due to different gas pressures that are used in the units. From memory Sanyo left that market in about 2012 and went back to the standard refrigerants.
  13. @Russell griffithsthis sort of thing ..? I’ve seen it used on porches and a small garage roof but never anything so large or structurally important as a main roof. Have they said why they need 3 days ..? Seems a lot if the roof is only 8x5 as that is the size of a large double garage.
  14. Are you looking to get the tray dead level with the finished floor ..? What tiles / floor finish are you using and how big is the tray ..?? With stone cast trays you normally bed them on a mortar bed and this would be the same. 3:1 sand cement with SBR added I think is what Uncle @Nickfromwales recommended previously ..? That would bond rock solid to everything around it and the bottom of the tray.

    Depends !! I pay £13.50 /m or £1.35 each for standards and £15/m for 140mm blocks. Day rates vary wildly but again I pay around the £230 mark for brickie and labourer.

  19. Can’t think and mine is about 20 miles from me currently ..! Try registering it and see if it allows you to.

A protected stair can be as simple as having fire doors with intumescent strips on all doors that lead onto the staircase, and the staircase cannot be open to any rooms with a source of fire such as a kitchen or a WBS etc. You can do this with open areas if you plan carefully what is in those rooms from memory. Alternate is to make the stairwell a feature on its own or even (assuming you have space...) put a second access stair to the ground floor in your original plan.

  22. In order Floating shelf - ask for replacement Doors - get the whole lot fitted and get Magicman to repair at their cost Fridge Cabinet ...... never seen anyone do that to a unit ..!! If the front is still sound then I would just ask for money to reinforce the back and get the chippy to cut back that chipboard and let in a new stronger piece that is full thickness
  23. Pleasant or unpleasant ..?? That’s a £1200 add on to a tap, making it £2300 RRP...
  24. Send a photo as it may be worth working out where the pipework may come into it as that will be the problem.
  25. New or reclaimed ..?? It’s a delightfully slow job and isn’t cheap so don’t be surprised if you struggle to get anyone - I tried and was quoted £60/m for labour to lay, sand and finish.
