  1. Blah, blah, staircase in, moving on! What's next? Can you zoom in in the "crap" please, one man's rubbish etc ?
  2. Could be worse, could be footprints! ? Multisolve? Leave it to work as per instructions though.
  3. You can make yourself a "scratching tool" by taking a scrap piece of say 3/4" ply and cutting to say 6"X 3". Put a few screws or nails in from one side that just poke out the other side. Think "bed of nails". When firm enough but not gone off, you sort of go over your render gently and the screw tips leave scratch lines to help key the next coat.
  4. I found the Geberit instructions confusing to start with, what with their mixing mm and cm. Once you crack the code so to speak and it's crystal clear. I've fitted a Geberit wall frame and wall drain now and tbh love the stuff. I found the videos really helped. Just YouTube "Geberit UP320".
  5. The name your looking for is Abacus and the general consensus here I believe is that it's w**k! ? I believe they pretty much copied Geberit, might even have been some legal proceedings instigated.
  6. Similar, cheaper: https://www.lights.co.uk/selin-hanging-light-rotatable-tiltable.html?
  7. Is it not because you have no proper insulation and airtight membrane? The temperature in the building is marginally higher than the outside so condensation us forming on the inside of the ply? Just a guess.
  8. Drove you batty eh? Mods, can we have an "I'll get me coat" emoji please?
  9. Indeed. Some woodgrain and leather effect Fablon roll, job done!
  10. Probably, I find Google good for searching this sort of thing.
  11. Might assist:
  12. @Barney12 in here had to do similar in the roof of one of his outbuildings. Hang on and I'll see if I can find a link.

  14. Suspended on what, a wire or a tube so it can't spin? Got a link to the one that's too expensive?
  15. In this house we call that "balmy".
  16. Some good info and ideas here in @Ferdinand's blog:
  17. The key comment here I guess is they've apparently paid heed to better insulating their old place? https://www.theguardian.com/money/2021/oct/23/its-been-brilliant-air-source-heat-pump-will-recoup-cost-for-owner How do those costs equate to a proper passive type build? As an aside are all the Tory MPs really going to give up their AGAs in their country piles?
  18. Sometimes I wish I hadn't found this place or it's predecessor. Before then I just owned "a house" and all houses were nominally equal, just bigger or smaller. Up until then I thought PIR stood for passive infra red. Airtightness was something to do with Tupperware. Then I went and visited a passiv esque house. It was shortly after this that the realisation / depression set in. ?
  19. If anything the stove probably runs a little cooler than a car exhaust I think. Not as hot as a microwaved croissant mind! Did this the other night, nuked a stale croissant for 30 seconds. Put it to my lips and whoosh, a jet of scalding steam came out of it: It looks like something I've caught off @pocster! Attractive eh?
  20. Go away, I've escaped my DIY woes & the money pit and am busy:
  21. This is handy, goes in a standard mastic gun: https://www.zoro.co.uk/shop/not-categorised/not-categorised/exhaust-assembly-paste-150ml/p/ZT1229828P?
  22. I wonder if you could start a Stage 1 Complaint against the LA if they've taken too long?
  23. Nope, that's well "rough" enough. Guessing you might have used the waterproof additive? Looks a nice creamy mix there.
  24. Looks good ?
