Transistorised with lots of caps in there I think.

2 pack epoxy will be fine imo but vacuum the floor really well first to get all the loose and dust off.

Just been back... sober... Definitely between one phase to earth I'm getting 430VAC: Where the phase converter connects to the commando socket: JB at the back of the lathe: Took the lathe out of the equation and checked again. Same results. Said he's never changed the lead on the converter. As much as anything it's a case of redoing terminations, sleeving/marking and tidying as I go.

How does the boost button on a phase converter work anyone? Brings other caps in? The above results suggest I've lost a phase. It won't start on the fwd/rev switch but will get going if you press the boost button. Now I know a 3P motor shouldn't start with just two "real" phases present but will run albeit a bit crap on 2 once it's turning. Wondering if the boost does something odd to start it turning. First thing is to check the voltages properly. Hoping to have another look this weekend.

Costs of Retro Fit v Dig up and re-screed UFH
Onoff replied to Digger1's topic in Underfloor Heating
With even 300mm of EPS under the floor in a passive esque build I seem to recall you still lose like 8% of your heat down through the floor. I've dug out one room so far and built back up with 150mm pir + 25mm eps underneath. With hindsight I'd have dug deeper and put more insulation in. -
Anyone have a Cavin wine chiller?
Onoff replied to Adsibob's topic in Kitchen & Household Appliances
.....and an integrated Bosch fridge! ? -
Bit pricey a single to 3-phase vsd for this as it is. The motor I don't believe is dual voltage so doesn't offer the option to run 220v delta. Pity as single phase 220 to three phase 220 are comparatively cheap.

Vacuum kombi sucker on a crane or robot arm? @craig will be along shortly I'm sure.

I've got a freebie integrated Bosch fridge. Was thinking about cutting the front out with my Fakita grinder and fitting some walk on glazing. ? -

More tempting than you know at the moment... ?

Just spent 10 minutes at the lathe owners with the voltmeter. Turned the phase converter on. Left the lathe off. L1 to L2 - 430V L2 to L3 - 430V L1 to L3 - 0V L1 to earth - 0V L2 to earth (machine body) - 430V ? L3 to earth - 0V He did say he may have wired it wrong... Didn't go any further as just finished a Marston's Pedigree.

Internal walls? cost effective, yet robust?
Onoff replied to Andeh's topic in General Self Build & DIY Discussion
Pallets? ? -
I'd first jet wash those sides to get rid of the greenery. I'd then get some 6mm galvanised garden mesh (Toolstation, Wickes). Stick bits of that over the holes with some blobs of CT1 etc and when dry and secure render over it. Nice sticky render laden with SBR. Build the render up in layers to replace where the block faces have spalled.

So glad I haven't got to weigh out £1400 on oil tomorrow...oh wait I have! ?

Screwfix Drill/Impact Driver Twin Pack Bargains - DeWalt vs Makita

This new charger I've picked up just now either doesn't have a fan, it's not yet kicked in yet or it's duff! Red charging light on, charge bars gone from 1 to 4 but no fan noise at all so far. Charger doesn't feel overly hot. -
Does the brass male have provision for a large, Allen key type hex bit? - If so securely fix your bib tap brass thing behind the tiles. Doesn't matter if it's lower than the tile face. - Put 23 turns of PTFE all along the brass male. - Wind into the brass female until it stops. - A good squidge of CT1 around the protruding male where it comes out of the tiles. - Ditch the black plastic nut. - Wind the chrome outlet onto the PTFE'd male. DO NOT TURN BACK AT ANY TIME! When up against the tiles wipe the CT1 off with a baby wipe and WALK AWAY. Do a dry run first in case you have to shorten the brass male. ...is what I'd do.

Screwfix Drill/Impact Driver Twin Pack Bargains - DeWalt vs Makita
Onoff replied to Oxbow16's topic in Tools & Equipment
I am actually searching for a cheap YELLOW Fakita grinder that will take Makita batteries. I already have an orange one (circa £23 I think it was). Figure different colours will be good, one for a slitting disc another colour for the flap disc. -
