I had to wrap both external 150mm pipes as condensation was forming on the “air in” pipe within my warm loft (I just did it in loft insulation off cuts wrapped with duct tape at intervals). -
Bio-pure or ClearFox sewage plant feedback wanted, please

I have a Vortex and very pleased with it, like @Jeremy Harris noise from the air pump was initially a bit of an issue but soundproofing and removing it from the lid worked wonders. -
Did anyone see top gear and that VW electric “car”, faster than a formula 1 car.

I have also appealed and got my banding reduced a long time ago, when our new build was assessed I was pleasantly surprised (fairly poor rural area!).

I have fitted them for customers in the past and they have always liked them.

IMO it should have soakers as the tiles are offset which means every other tile does not have a ridge to keep the water away from the stack.

Temporary heat source for UFH: Willis heaters

many years ago, before these devises, I had an immersion stick on, it had heated the plastic header tank above it to the point the header tank was about to melt (it was wobbling) which would have flooded the house .- 159 comments

That sounds odd to me, I would have thought a single ASHP would be cheaper. it’s not that new, loads exists and the technology has been around for many years in fridges.
-
Like @ProDave we have an ASHP that does heating and DHW, the only problem with an ASHP is the slow heat up time , I have two thermostats, middle one for the normal two of us and bottom one for when we have guests, we also have two immersions (middle and lower) as back up, if all that fails I will boil a kettle ???.

+1 ?, only no smell but in the quiet of the night you can hear the treatment plant “bubbling away”. -

I have i joists and as long as the holes are in the right place (not near ends) it’s quite alright, mine is installed in a warm loft but an airing cupboard is ok, I suppose if it’s central in the house it would be better. I used the 75mm flexi duct, built my own manifold from ply and also made it a silencer I also made my own room vents from cheap bits. I located vents at opposite ends of the room to doors to create cross flow within those rooms. I have not balanced mine yet and have just installed a humidity stat to turn on boost based on RH. -
Right, I want to get rid of my land line, mobile signal is sketchy and would like it better indoors, need wifi (fir buildhub etc!) I don’t stream tv yet,!. What can I do to make sure my mobile signal is good enough, I am prepared to put an external aerial up? edit, just done a “3” availability checker and ok fir 4g, then it was suggested I try “Super voice 4g” Black spots is what I suffer from. You're all set; you're in a 4G Super-Voice area and your phone is compatible, so you'll soon notice your signal smashing through indoor blackspots

actually I don’t mind adverts for subjects I am interested in!
-
I could not work out why I was being hit with adverts fir women’s shoes, dresses and handbags till I twigged er indoors uses my iPad ? ( honest judge! )
-
My neighbours laugh at me because I am often hanging out of a window to make a mobile call!!!?I wouldnt mind getting something to replace the expensive landline for data, I don’t use my landline fir voice calls.!
-
My stove usage is very much like @ProDave (now he’s out of his caravan ?). I supply my stove like Dave with trees on my land and occasional “gifts” (fallen trees on neighbouring land).
-
my previous employer used to say “there is no such thing as a problem, they are opportunities”. @Jeremy Harris is there such a thing as a particulate sensor that you could incorporate into your incoming air duct to switch off your MVHR?
-
+1 with above, if you can shave off 30mm then all well and good, if not it’s already been signed off ?
-
or a combination of both, 30mm is very little. The ceiling appears to have an oak trim? Can this be trimmed a little, if it’s over the whole length no one will notice. I think a good chippy could do this ( I am sure I could?). 15mm into the landing if not more and 15mm off the oak trim?

I too have a WBS, cut some trees down yesterday that blew over In storm dorris or whatever, they will be stacked fir 24months to dry out. The problem is regulating stupid people!
-
That’s the way to go then, simples!, in a previous house I owned there was a clause in the deeds that the new build next door drains teed into mine by the boundary (to save £1000,s on sewer connection) and they have right of access to maintain ?.
