Then I think the council are on dodgy grounds. I would be tempted to tell them you ARE Going to erect your fence unless they can give you evidence that backs up their assumptions.

That depends on your deeds and any covenant on the land, not what the council “thinks”

The cheapest option for a temporary storage in the garden?
joe90 replied to JohnBishop's topic in Garages & Workshops
Plenty on EBay, better if near to you I guess. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204046125097?hash=item2f8218c829:g:WuUAAOSw4IBi2xHb -
The cheapest option for a temporary storage in the garden?
joe90 replied to JohnBishop's topic in Garages & Workshops
Very dodgy keeping tools In it, no way to make it secure, yes cheap gazebo,s will fall apart quickly and not withstand any wind. What about a scrap caravan and strip the inside out? -
I appealed myself but involving a planning application including many things. I found it easier than dealing with the planners.

What energy rating is your HW cylinder?
joe90 replied to Adsibob's topic in Boilers & Hot Water Tanks
Mine is the same as @ProDave above and very low levels of loss. -
Our planners tried to tell us some of our garden was not “garden”. Bloody planners (I won at appeal).

Big difference between holiday let and second home (which is usually empty a lot of the year), yes holiday let is good fir the local economy.
-
I never used a pressure gauge but I got a guy, (who had one himself), to commission it fir me, he just used his eyes to watch the bubbles and adjust it fir us, that was two years ago and it’s still OK.
-
Not me, I advocate doubling council tax on second “holiday” homes (not rentals) but support nearly all local building.
-
And who’s top of that list? Yes the south west, 101%, just like water charges. No wonder Cornwall is considered a poor county 🤷♂️
-
Will that be by connecting crocodile clips as per @Nickfromwales point above? Change to. Battery charger/off/PV
-
IMO it’s not load bearing, it was installed after the joist hangers etc, but I like the “try it and see” approach 🤷♂️
-
Get house insurance quotes for the various types of build, that will give you an indication of “risk”.
-
As an aside ( as I see both sides of this argument), in what way do UVC,s fail.?
-
I think you can only wait for no 3 to return from holiday.
-
I called my workshop a garage as it’s only a garage you can claim the VAT back on with a new build.
-
Typical bloody planners, yes, don't appeal just resubmit using your free go, far faster. Glad you got it sorted, I had similar with root protection zone and a quick call to the tree officer sorted it out 👍

I do know our Jeremy reverse engineered his ASHP to cool his slab (and it worked) and I have the same Unit, however, 33’ today, 27’ forecast tomorrow and 23’ the day after. I won’t consider spending money on cooling till we have more hot days .

Orientation of house to road vs. preferred orientation for sun
joe90 replied to Alan Ambrose's topic in Planning Permission
I also turned the build through 90’ to get solar gain, if you say in your application it’s for sustainability reasons, PV, might help your cause! -
Are you doing the work or your contractor?, @PeterW has given a full reply above.
-
That happened to me, despite the fact I knew more than one councillor had no problem with my application they all voted to refuse (and would not look me in the eye at the council meeting (good job i appealed 🖕)
-
Wow, a very stark reminder @Radian
-
No, mine is fully insured (£1m I believe) .

I would prefer noggins all the way, what depth are the furrings at the other end? Are they deep enough to carry the weight of the roof (snow loading!!!) I have always put furrings on top of and along the joists, not across them 🤔
