Where did you get that picture? the problem with pictures is it doesn’t tell the full story, the picture might be nice but it could be horrible to live with. It doesn’t look like a robust solution, just a detail to come back and bite you down the line. I would want a small folded aluminium trim to cover the top of the brick, it might not need to project like a cill. Bricks are very porous.

Gaffer tape Patrick my boy. Flanges only needed for a gas membrane not for damp proofing.

Nice to see you cut out around the windows, so many put a join here that cracks. ?

Caesarstone - does it stain?
Russell griffiths replied to Adsibob's topic in Kitchen Units & Worktops
No, but ours was in a very dark chocolate colour and the water marks left after you put a cold drink down where a pain, continuous polishing to keep it clean. We had a cream colour in the laundry that didn’t show a mark. When end I had samples delivered I poured all sorts of weird stuff on it to stain it, never happened. -
You need to connect back to the inspection chamber not the middle of the pipe, imagine a blockage past the point of that join heading towards the island, there is no way to direct a drainage rod to veer off and go up the junction to the blockage. Imagine a blockage at the point the (N) is in the word island, no easy way to get to it.

Is this the correct placement for O rings ?
Russell griffiths replied to jfb's topic in General Plumbing
That looks right. It is normally easier to just yank that fitting and chuck it in the bin, new fitting straight on. -
How will you load the dumper ? they are designed for moving soil/sand about, you need a forklift.

Go and buy one, re sell after the job is finished. Ive got 177 sheets of plasterboard coming this week and due to all this materials shortage stuff that’s going on it’s coming in 3 separate deliveries. ??♂️
-
Nope, no chance you won’t budge it, if it hasn’t got an engine forget it, your not pulling it nowhere. If you are building a whole whole house you need to address this issue now as this will be one of 50-60-70 deliveries, so you need a method.

I’ve got loads as well??

painting woodwork - without leaving brush marks
Russell griffiths replied to TryC's topic in Decorating
Everything needs to stick to whatever you have, so every surface needs sanding and then cleaning to remove dust and any oil from your fingers or other contaminants. Prime all bear wood, undercoat, sand , undercoat, sand, undercoat, sand. Get the picture. -
painting woodwork - without leaving brush marks
Russell griffiths replied to TryC's topic in Decorating
You won’t get a finished product with undercoat, you will need to use a primer on the bare wood, then a coat of undercoat, then a very light sand down to get the details right, then another undercoat, then another sand and then two top coats. There is no short cuts to a good finish, no miracle one coat paint, it’s just lots of work and detailing. -
Things to think about. Will the hedge survive ? Probably is there an alternative position for trench ? is the trench position this close a good idea ? No not really.

It all depends on the design, you can build a roof with no purlins, no problem, but having a roof designed with purlins and then not putting them in. Well that’s an altogether different situation.

Timber frame in flood zone- ideas?
Russell griffiths replied to DragsterDriver's topic in Timber Frame
1m isn’t really that high, the time you put down a couple of course of blocks then block n beam floor then 200mm of insulation and 80mm screed your up there. Alternatively I would have a row of Gabon baskets around the house site and back fill with 600mm of stone then an insulated raft. i did mine on block n beam floor, but wish I had done the raft idea. -
Why only double glazed??

Underground Drainage Design advice.
Russell griffiths replied to Steve247's topic in Waste & Sewerage
I’m no expert on this but it’s not how I would want it, how would you clear a blockage from the main runs to the wc wc on main run with branches for other items. -
