How does Karndean stand up to dogs, we have a stained floor in the current house, granted only redwood, and the dogs claws have caused lots of scratches.

If you have numerous stopcocks how about turning one off at a time and then seeing if the leak persists, assuming you have a meter and can check. If you manage to stop the leak at least you know which run of pipe is causing the problem.

Mind if I ask who the window / patio door supplier was??
-
Can't see that it makes a great deal of difference. Personally I'd fit before skim.

Right, an email to Tanner it is then

So I've got my 300mm stone sub base down, compacted every 50mm, and I've got the blinding arriving next week, another 50mm. The question is, did you, or your contractor, compact the blinding?? I would guess that 1 run over with the wacker and then top up and lay the insulation would be the way to go. Anyone know differently??

OK, thanks Nick, much appreciated
-
Ah, right. So it's hire an orangutan or buy shorter rolls then
-
Thanks Nick, right answer . That's the one I can buy a 300m roll of therefore leaving as little waste as possible.

Simple question, does it matter which. Does one have any advantages over the other. For my ground floor layout I need approx 300m, (80m + 80m + 85m + 45m) and have found a source of one of the above in that sized roll. Most go from 200m - 500m.

The wall plate does not go into the gable. Just butt it up to the gable blocks and you'll be fine.

Just to quantify my earlier post. When I said "hammer", I didn't mean a lump hammer. I have removed many single tiles by tapping lightly with a pin hammer in the centre until the tile breaks, and then removing it piece by piece. Works ok for me

Yes, I had one fail in our utility room, under the sink. Luckily we were in at the time and I suddenly heard the sound of gushing water. Only took me a short time to find the problem but the floor was already well covered by the time I got the water turned off. Hate to think what would have happened had we been out for the day, or even worse, on holiday!!
-
Hammer, just smash the tile and take it out bit by bit.

The panel is ready do I need to protect the tails?

My sparky is just sorting out my electrics and he mentioned today that the tails between cabinets would need to be in a short length of 32mm conduit (i.e. waste pipe). -
A complete guess but if they're not fire doors I wouldn't think it matters.
-
Does anyone know what distance separation there should be between the electric and gas ductings where they enter through the floor slab.

Just ordered a small quantity of geotextile membrane. As the order is of low value I have to pay the postage of £10.00. The invoice shows this amount lumped in with the goods, and then VAT on the lot. I am thinking that for my paperwork I should remove the postage VAT element (£2.00) , anyone agree or otherwise??

Depends on the tongue and groove. As @Stones suggests you may need to take equal off both sides.

The master bedroom faces North on the elevation

Yes, I'd certainly agree on the confusing issue.

If the piles are 27 metres (90 ft) long I'd be gobsmacked. I assume the datum is taken from the Ordnance Survey standard datum. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ordnance_datum
