  1. Went with private company as it was the same price as local authority, the BCO has been totally onboard.
  2. Best time to prune cherry is June / July and treat pruned branches with Arbrex or similar.
  3. Just ordered another 20 rolls and the discount code still works. 15%aocx
  4. Can you share your knowledge about solar thermal or a PV diverter ( Eddi ). I cannot see the benefit of having both, the PV diverter seems much more effective with an immersion in the buffer tank or UVC. Thank you.
  5. Final payment not made. So far they have recognised all the issues and will keep you informed of progress. Might take a while.
  6. I did pay £8k on a credit card as a deposit.
  7. Hi Dave, the installers are from the suppliers. Have a meeting tomorrow at midday with them to go through issues. Will keep you updated. The glazing with the roller marks concern me most. @ProDave
  8. Glad to hear you are watertight. Who paid for magicman, the installers?
  9. 90% has been paid. Terms and conditions stipulated payments before fitting. Yes, Heat stress / roller mark. Not sure why it would leave the factory like this, its so obvious. Thanks for Magicman.
  10. Advice appreciated. Doors and windows installed and a few scars to resolve. Doors and windows are Kastrup and the the 4m slider is Internorm. All 3G. Firstly, the glass in one of the windows appears to have roller marks about 150mm wide down each side. This makes the glass appear very wavey and distorted. Only visible from outside. The slider has a deep gauge on the face of the opening slider. Gauge and dents in 2 of the timber frames. I have sent an email and photos to the installers and await a reply. @lizzie @Barney12
  11. My order was £321 + vat and they charged me £10.00 + vat for carriage. Next time......
  12. Tescon is 30m so only 6p a metre more, can you claim the vat back from the ebay purchase? I hope the 15% discount code is still working, need another 20 rolls.
  13. @TriassicI ordered 30 rolls in January and they charged £10 + vat for delivery. Works very well on OSB.
  14. One of the benefits of living in the Dartmoor NP is the geology. Upper Devonian, slates and volcanics. About 250mm of top soil then what the locals call shillet, Its been raining for weeks, roads flooded but just no standing water on site. What Russell has suggested is a good solution, my folks had problems with clay, dug trenches, gravel, perforated pipe and always water draining out.
  15. @recoveringacademic Hi Ian, what wheels did you buy, can you send me a link, thank you.
  16. Can you let us know what equipment did you register and what was your predicted energy use, just wondering is it worth it as I will be in a similar position soon.
  17. I bought some cheap casters off ebay, they fit over the verticals and are a larger diameter. The stop screw helps but not perfect, sloppy fit! The wheel is solid plastic so could damage a floor. Fine for my needs on the slab.
  18. I think this is a good option. Also when you have visitors you don’t need to stand on the stairs to let them in.
  19. New build was £108.00 using http://www.sapeasy.co.uk/#newbuild
  20. Hi Peter, I have just had a preliminary SAP done and looking at the elements in the construction spec for walls and roof they have not included any breather membrane or vcl. I am spending money and time on fitting the vcl and taping, would this effect my Sap calculations?
  21. I have just been asked for the next interim payment for windows and doors. Its the big one and have asked to see all the units before I pay this bill. They could go into admin anytime. Not sure how I could protect myself. I did pay the deposit on CC, they did grumble a bit.
  22. Below is my first floor option. Polystyrene with aluminium spreader plate.
  23. Have a look at Nu-heat ( https://www.nu-heat.co.uk/underfloor-heating/floor-constructions/joisted/ ) for some UFH options. They do a a clippa plate system which can go between or over joists. I will probably be using the polystyene panel system which sits on top of the floor decking as I have already fitted the deck, increases the floor depth by 25mm. Lots of systems out there to look at.
  24. Hi, I am fitting all the internals walls, including load bearing to the slab before I fit 150mm Celotex, UFH and screed. Again on the first floor walls up before UFH, etc. Will send a more relevant photo tomorrow. You can just see some internal walls at the back behind mvhr.
