  1. Hi JP If you are looking for a breather membrane, I used Protect VP300 which is a medium weight vapour permeable roofing underlay for use in cold or warm pitched roof constructions.
  2. Ordered DS5525, arrives tomorrow. The task......Vertical 50mm batten + Rockwool to go the left hand side then the OSB.
  3. @jamiehamy @Barney12 Which model Senco do you recommend, DS275 18V or DS205 14V. I have 300 + sheets to fix.
  4. @Nickfromwales All my tools are Makita except the Dewalt 780 are great, I don't want to give up on it but this one is very time consuming. New purchase necessary. DNTTW.
  5. Bought new bits, jams once inside board afew mm. set length correctly. Using 38mm screws and set to 40mm. My bro is a bit tough on his tools and it might have gone airborne afew times.
  6. Advice appreciated. I have 150 sheets of OSB and another 150 sheets of plasterboard to fit and my brother has lent me a MAKITA DFR550Z. However it is proving not very reliable and I seem to spend more time removing jammed screws. Are these reliable or operator error.
  7. You are not alone, we are providing 72sqm of floor space and 1.8m to the eaves, creating a false hip and they also require a heater......it goes on and on. Same ecologist.
  8. I had a quick look and my initial thoughts are the kitchen is facing north with one window looking east across a wall, it seems a bit dark and mean. And I agree with @ProDave about the west wing, its too long facing south and after midday shadow will appear across the front of the dining room and living room.
  9. This on ebay.de which works out at £15.00 a roll inclusive. Do you know if I can claim back VAT? www.ebay.de/itm/Tescon-Vana-Dampfsperre-Klebeband-Pro-Clima-PREMIUM-Allround-30m-x-6cm/201991241078?hash=item2f079dbd76:m:miILfCmA5AIiZc77NhPSq7A#shpCntId
  10. Did you tape both the OSB and VCL?
  11. Where do you recommend putting the VCL, my build up from the inside out is : Plasterboard Batten OSB VCL? Timber frame with 260mm insulation Pavatherm BM Batten Cladding
  12. About to fit 160 sheets of 11mm OSB3 to inside of walls and roof, can you recommend any airtight tape. Happy with the Protect Barriair as well?
  13. Thanks for sharing, I thought it was just me......Absolute nightmare individual. Seems to dominate in the park. The only other alike person was the planning officer, JB. Compared to what you have dealing with in the past the roof / PV is probably a minor headache which is resolvable.
  14. @Barney12 Sorry to read your news, I live on the south side of the park and the wind has been howling on and off for weeks, mainly NW but last night a blast from the SW. My build is only covered in Breather membrane and batten, waiting for all to settle to get the Tata roof on..... Having read some of your posts can I enquire if you Ecologist was GB. Mine has and still is a major pain, would like to get rid of and start again as the licence to N England wont be sent until 72sqm of bat cave has been built.
  15. I have a similar question, Vaulted ceiling which will be lined with 11mm OSB3 onto the rafters. This is for racking, also on the internal walls. We want to have birch ply sheets as a final finish, so do I have to fit plasterboard first, is it a fire regulation requirement? Or just fix straight onto OSB?
  16. I went with Tata as I felt they had thought through more of the details especially around roof lights, I have 7 to fit round. Also no tools to hire, Euroclad require you to rent its seaming tool and as I am fitting myself the cost would have added up. Cost was very similar for both products, I prefer the slightly wider panel of the Tata and the training offered was excellent. Leaving 5am to collect so will let you know.
  17. Looks great Pete, did you install yourself? Off to Tata Steel Deeside on Wednesday with the trailer to collect my 3 roofs and wall panels. I ordered on the 8th December so impressed with the turnaround.
  18. Let us know who you are referring to. I did visit Euroclad near Cardiff to look at the Vieo products, slightly different profile and you need to rent the seaming tool. Off to Tata Steel Deeside on Tuesday with the trailer to collect my 3 roofs and wall panels. I ordered on the 8th December so impressed with the turnaround.
  19. The Rockwool Flexi 140mm slabs are very stable and would stay put. Personally I would use a cheaper option to the Egger board on the outside. Some wall build ups have OSB just on the inside or outside, the breather membrane would seem a bit vulnerable with out it. I used Pavatherm to increase the insulation and have a warm roof. My project below.
  20. On our wall build up I have 11mm OSB on the inside for racking, not sure why you would need the Egger and OSB. My wall build up from outside Larch cladding 25mm batten 25mm vertical batten Breather Membrane 40mm Pavatherm 275mm Timber with Rock wool Flexi Vapour Barrier 11mm OSB 25mm Service void 12mm Plasterboard
  21. I fixed the Pavatherm with some galvanised nails, the vertical battens hold it in place through the Pavatherm into the timber frame. After the insulation is finished I will fit OSB to all walls and roof for racking strength then batten and plasterboard. Lots to do.
  22. It is the DWS780, has been brilliant though a little weighty. Have another pint and tell us more......
  23. I have 270mm in the roof and 260mm in the walls so cost was a factor, breathable and the batts fit really well, easy to fit and no gaps if applied well, could not afford Sheep's wool Also a very dense product. Not a fan of Celotex unless its under a screed. Think I have a U Value of 0.14 in roof and walls and 0.11 in the floor. TBC.
  24. An update, spent Autumn fixing the Pavatherm 40mm Combi to all the external walls, about 240sqm and fitting membrane and battens. Then inside fitting Rockwool flexi 140mm in the walls and 70mm behind the rafters. Very easy to cut and minimal wastage. Another 150 rolls to arrive. Fixed timber horizontals to the walls for another 70mm insulation, planning on running the 75mm MVHR around the walls and roof once I have finished the internals walls before fitting another 200mm in the roof and 50mm on the walls. 70 sheets of 150mm Celotex (25% price hike) arrived for the ground floor, ordered 340sqm of Colorcoat Urban roof which should be ready for collection in January and finally ordered windows and doors, probably March arrival. Happy New Year all, thanks for the advice.
  25. @ragg987 @PeterStarck Thanks both, must read the guidelines.
