  1. you could fit boxes but would need different supply than the street lamp has someone has to pay for it --thats the problem --cos you got an electric car -you can,t expect free power
  2. last time i looked into this ,that was not the case -will hunt again
  3. no argument -- but not possible on sloping terrain and i,m too old to doing a "tarzan " impersonation
  4. I accept what you say -but its just not the way forward if we are trying to save the planet from pollution in the future --the old batteries have to dumped somewhere --
  5. talking of which ,has anybody seen wide ladders with some sort of device to fix to a tree when doing this other than tying a ratchet load strap around the top of ladder to tree
  6. that in all honesty is what needs to be addressed next make them recycle it now and get correct pricing sorted out including recyling costs --otherwise you are no better ,as long as its cheaper to use new AND NOT recycled lithium --then thats a bobby trap for later and hardly is in line with general outlook on recyling it can be done --just cheaper to mine new stuff in far off cheap labour locations then we might get some more development in other sorts batteries--
  7. certainly in scotland you cannot build a new house with less than off road 2.5 parking spaces -- so not a problem for new builds
  8. if you have the space then above ground black ones and make a fence aorund them or plant things to hide them --could be a litle hideaway area in the garden if set out in a horseshoe shape
  9. as in if you need to run raditoars as well on big old house and or large volumes of dhw your ashp is not good at getting hig temps for DHW
  10. you have an AAV on system --to bleed out any air?
  11. you need to change the costs to uk prices and it could end up better but 38% better than ASHp --your getting greedy now .LOl and you can have real hot water .Idid see inoen of thier downloads you can run the ufh water down to 20c -- that would give some more savings proably in a well insulated house maybe
  12. you know what happened to shumacher !! take up horses thats even more dnagerous and expensive so if no kids who is going to benifit from your demise.-- If no one then you will should read "being of sound body and mind -- I spent the lot and the tax can have the debts" LOL
  13. sounds like if it was in a box it could a wee biusness for you
  14. thats a question for your tax and investment advisor -- you could ,if you trust your kids gift it to them 7years before you die , and then pay them rent --on paper ,which could become an oustanding debt on you demise, which will come out of your hertiable assests even worse in scotland ,you cannot cut bad kids out of your will 30% of your hertiable assets have to be split equally between your off spring --no way round that as i understand it you can only mitigate it not get rid of it totally talk to a professional --well worth the fee in the long run the simple solution is spend it all an get in debt .LOL they can,t it if you don,t have it my situation is complicated and I have had to write. will , a sort of a trust , that puts my assets into partners nameto use as she thinkks fit -- and only when she dies do her kids get a chance to get my assests and only then the bad ones get sod all --who knows they could change the law again by then and it may not work
  15. I,m sure someone will come along to help --pictures of manifold might be helpful-- maybe your air lock is caused by pipe runs ?
  16. interesting alternative to ASHP they claim its cheaper to run than electric only + it can provide real hot water at 65-70c with no penalty . maybe good choice for old big house where you need rads as well as UFH and lots of bath rooms http://www.roburheatpumps.co.uk/products/heating-only/robur-k18-mini-air-source/ http://www.roburheatpumps.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Robur-K18-brochure.pdf whats your thoughts guys ?
  17. they would get used to it,juts like that sit under road bridges or live in harbours and yes you would need ot factor inthe wigfht of the tnak --thats looks aobur 300kg anyway
  18. could velox agent not suggest someone to use who built with it before? have you run your plans by velox ? to make sure what you are doing is the right way
  19. are there any cellars below you ceiling height ? and does it period doors skirtings etc picces of insdie as well will help do you have mains gas
  20. thats normal in the S/E of england anyway .LOL
  21. i think you will find that alot of tropical fish will happily live with low 20,s if accustomed to it --leave the bag they come in in tank for 24 hrs before letting them out --but leave top undone or they will not get air
  22. you might not even need heater in it if it was a modern house?
  23. for others it shows how important a proper itemised quote and signed supply contract is
  24. i think he is really asking the question so he can save money on build costs . If it were me --i would at least fit UFH piping in the floor as its very cheap at build stage to do -, maybe you can balance cost of heat pump etc with more expensive running cost of simple panel heaters? fiiting pipes in floor at build stage leaves you options later
