Thank you, the pair have been apprehended from our wildlife camera evidence. The police couldn't praise the footage highly enough, especially as it was dark when the 2 perpetrators arrived. We even recorded their voices, bonus. I'll link you to the camera https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B016O208AY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=13 points

We have the range master 110cm Induction Nexus and it is great for cooking with, we have always had dual fuel but I now much prefer cooking with Induction hob. Roasts/Cakes etc turn out great. we brought it through Quidco, got £150 cashback and a free set of high quality pans from the vendor who were alos the cheapest. The only issue we had was we had a deliery slot of 6-8pm, and they hadn't shown by 8 we couldn't contact them to find out where they were, then a lorry turned up at 10:30pm with our cooker, they had been doing deliveries around Wimbledon this time last year so got majorly delayed.2 points

I've used Trade Direct Insurance. Price was fine and did a 9month extension okay.1 point

The Lusso stone one is 25mm thick, that one is 40mm - makes a difference if you're trying to get it flush with the floor.1 point

We got ours through this company T: 01205 591982 F: 01205 367158 Burgess Thompson & Richardson Ltd 11 High Street Boston PE21 8SH Bought the land land with two derelict properties on it, to cover our own back in case of trespassers injuring themselves, or worse I phone around and found the above and got liability insurance for £180. The two conditions were haras fencing around the property and a lifesaving buoy on a post near the pond (which is dry at the moment). Hope this helps @oldcoop or is what you were looking for1 point

If you are budgeting max £2k for the cooker, buy Rangemaster. Its the best product in that price range. Not even worth looking at anything else.1 point

Agree on the price reductions. If you have a couple of models / makers in your price bracket and the one above, variations on prices should be around +/- 30% if you look around and can wait a couple of months. Free delivery should be a lollipop that is always available, especially if you ask just before signing the order. If you are going for an Induction Hob then ebay is still swimming in £120 (allegedly) sets of Neff Induction pans which were being given away with Neff hobs until recently for about £40. https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_odkw=neff&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR12.TRC2.A0.H0.Xneff+induction+pans.TRS0&_nkw=neff+induction+pans&_sacat=0 But you will shaft yourself if you then negotiate a free set with your new Range Cooker :-) . Ask for something else instead. Free fitting may also be an offer, but that is more difficult if you are buying early for a discount to save a few hundred and storing it for a few months. To my eye keeping it for 6-12 months is worth it if you are saving say 35-40%, as 25-30% off should always be available. Ferdinand1 point

These were JJI's which I had to beef up. The webs got fully loaded with 22mm plywood, glued and screwed, then 18mm webs added top to toe, glued and screwed again. Bath going in here was 90kg empty so the flimsy joists weren't enough on their own imo so Capt OCD went to town. (x) mm ply goes under the former, equivelant size goes on top of P5 later. Then (x) mm ply goes all over the P5 to bring it back to one flush floor Or as @ProDave reminded me, do away with the ply, glue and screw the ? out of the P5 and use the Impey membrane which both bonds and decouples.1 point

Plan your drain runs in the main to run parallel with and between the joists. You can cut through the web of a JJI but you probably need to add a plywood gusset plate glued and screwed each side. Shower former sits straight on joists, you will need to add some strengthenig webs flush with the top pf the joists to properly support the former. Floor boards on top of joists up to former. This is exactly what I am doing except I have posi joists I can't see the drain issue being any different between a wet room former and a standard shower tray, unless you were planning to put the tray up on legs?1 point

I like the "open" end - we have that in marble. Much better, I think, than having a row of four stools along one side of a long island.1 point

We wanted honed, but I think a lot of (at least marble) slabs are pre-polished. You can return them to a honed finish at extra cost.1 point

Yes @JSHarris , that makes a lot of sense. Equally @Temp I did cut and paste into my notes a while back this counter-argument (I think might actually be @Nickfromwales comment originally); Ok - the only way to damage a pipe in this way is to cause the damage during installation - PEX is good to 10 bar, UFH is 1-2 at most and to get PEX to expand more than 0.5mm needs around 4 bar. Pumps are circulation pumps not pressure pumps so there is no way for a pulse to be created unless there is a fast actuating manifold valve and even then, that would be a sub second pulse only when it closes. I think in my situation the green layout creates so many more chances for the full weight of a worker to end up effectively tight-rope walking on the pipe (as the mesh will be more open now i'm scrapping the anti-crack layer. Just to add that we used Pear Stairs, can't speak highly enough about them. Excellent quality, a perfect fit first time, and pretty quick from placing the order to taking delivery. They deliver themselves, too, so the staircase arrives well-packaged and with minimal risk of damage in transit. The joiner that gave me a hand to install it reckoned he'd have had to charge twice as much just to break even, and when we lifted it up and hooked it on, he pulled a torpedo level out of his pocket saying "lets see how far out it is". The bubble stayed resolutely in the middle on all axes, so he scratched his head, said he'd never seen a staircase like that before and we set about fixing it in place. Half a day's work to fit the staircase, landing rail and banister, then a wait for a couple of weeks for the 10mm thick glass, as they get that made after fitting, when you give them the "as installed" dimensions.1 point
