No my orig doors aren't haunched. Haunching looks like the biggest pain in the butt.. but that's an impressive door, especially from scrap!

Ok understand my plant ons best follow the door contour. Thx.

The haunch is proper old school tba. The way the forces work the load goes down through the brace. The haunch "locks" the brace into the ledge. Keeps the door square. More relevant if a real heavy door. I did it because I could pretty much and it's quite satisfying, the marking out, getting it right etc.

Onoff still has time to finish the bathroom and the gate before BH birthday... last laugh and all that.

You are indeed new to BH. @Onoff bathroom saga is being made into a movie . Think it's going to be around 2.5 hrs long.

It's a tale of ineptitude , indifference , failure and loss.

Bring a tear to your eye.

Once that's been released and you've watched it the same production company are making a movie about my bathroom legend.

It's a tale of triumph , skill , determination - with an amazing ending ; great CGI . Also there are some rather hot steamy scenes later on.

2 Netflix binges for sure!

Regular cleaning with a mild bleach in water solution would be my suggestion. SWMBO used to regularly do it at No.1 son's uni digs when we went to visit. Old building / modern uPVC windows.

Redoing the silicone with a specific anti mould one like Forever White might help a bit.

Ventilation is going to be a big thing always. Dead space with little airflow around the windows, corners and so on.

Edit: Saying that just looked on the net and it says bleach might actually encourage mould and black spots! Vinegar maybe?

@Onoff but this the new extention, not old house. Got like this in just a few months since me building it.

It's a new box basically, better sealed up than any of the old rooms. The problem will likely be WORSE than in other rooms rooms.

Guessing no trickle vents in the new windows? Lots of dead air, dust, dead skin cells, sneezes and coughs and other organic detritus to stick and grow.

In fact its equally the same in all rooms.. but I wasnt expecting it in here, bc i thought it was cold bridging responsible, not my germs & mucus ( btw got your rad key to send back). One side of french doors alot worse than other too. Its like my student days.
