  1. better that than acidic condensate dripping and marking whatever's beneath it.
  2. Isn't quoted boiler efficiency combustion efficiency? Certainly the average combustion analyser gives efficiency numbers based purely on this, it cares not what the water temperature is...
  3. there are other brands of router that have built in NAS, I know Draytek often do. I've now got two old routers reconfigured as access points/ switches hanging off the Huawei 4g one. One is a Talktalk homehub thingy, the other is a Draytek 2850. It's got a USB that will run either as a printer server, an NAS, or take a 3/4g dongle for failover purposes.
  4. Band 1 is 2100MHz I think GPRS is a slow data connection, your local mast isn't 3g is it?
  5. Is the Howdens account in your name or the Builder's?
  6. I wanted to retain our existing panasonic fax/ DECT base and acquired a Cisco SPA232D adaptor. I first configured it for a cheapo geographic number from the provider to test it's functionality and to get a fixed phone at the site, and it has been working well.
  7. I'm just awaiting our number port to VOIP completing, and then I will be pleased to be shot of any copper connection to BT. Outgoing calls are working already, inbound is to switch on Tuesday.
  8. And we're in. So much still to do, but we need to move on the "other place" before the market dies off.
  9. no, more like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/150mm-White-Window-Plastic-Capping/dp/B077SYJZNH
  10. bit of bullnose pvc cut to suit.
  11. Acorn nut instead of ordinary one?
  12. https://www.toolstation.com/screws-fixings/galvanised-nails/c107 "bright" means raw uncoated metal. edit: and these for the joist hangers https://www.toolstation.com/sheradised-joist-hanger-nail/p96841
  13. yep, had this too. Shame, as some other brands can be unscrewed to make removal easier /ducks
  14. It's a similar scheme to my own, but as well as using a Laddomat-style load unit, I've also chosen to use a stove with a cooling coil in it for boil protection. You might want to consider this safety aspect yourself- maybe using an STS valve to supply cold mains to the bottom of the store in the case of a catastrophic overheat?
  15. the flat roof is level with- or slightly above- the roof peak?
  16. prices don't look too bad to be but will you be actually saving very much once you get all the mounting kit locally, and deal with any Duties and the onward freight from "London Port"?
  17. do you actually need the legionella cycle?
  18. heated rear window repair paint.
  19. I'd be checking for loose terminal screws in the CU. L,N and E...
  20. ... and a home automation system for the lighting @SteamyTea
  21. @iceverge you're talking about something very similar to what World Heat made up for me. I've a 270l store with built-in expansion space, DHW coil, ASHP coil, and direct tappings on the tank for the boiler stove.
  22. Our road had had fibre run along it as part of the Project Stratum initiative- which is for externally-funded rural FTTP. But I can't get it because there's currently no copper phone line to the house. And the local exchange is apparently now closed to new copper connections... I'll be sticking with the 4g I think.
  23. does the current unit have a condenser fan and could it have failed? Undercounter integrated certainly do.
  24. I'm confused. The liner clearly doesn't comply?
