Solic 200 mod - scheduled boost for off peak hot water
dpmiller replied to RichardL's topic in Photovoltaics (PV)
so given that anyone can at any time add a diverter and start making savings, how does one start- at any time- to receive payment for export with a self-installed non-MCS PV system? -
Should I return this immersion heater?
dpmiller replied to Radian's topic in Electrics - Kitchen & Bathroom
that looks like a bi-metal weld that's failed, or maybe it's even just a swaged and pressed joint and a crack formed at the top of the swage? -
Ambitious water feature - pumps etc
dpmiller replied to Adam2's topic in Landscaping, Decking & Patios
if it's oversized a bit you can throttle both flow and pressure. Inefficient yes, but you can do it if you need to. -
this. a car will charge off a 13A outside socket...

all our controls and the secondary pump come off a different supply. Even if the ASHP was to expire and need to be isolated, we can heat the whole house either by immersion or boiler stove. Indeed even during a power failure everything bar the immersion can happily run off an inverter if needs be.

why does a buffer need a PRV?

I'd put money on the top weld of the housing having a crack in it

How to assemble cement mixer drum please?
dpmiller replied to akash's topic in Bricklaying, Blockwork & Mortar
I think you need to push the drum on a little further so that the pin drops *behind* the bearing. It's only a retainer after all -
depends, might need to be 100mA time delay to give sufficient discrimination

should there not have been a piece of tanking stuck down with the liquid membrane? this kinda thing https://www.sealantsandtoolsdirect.co.uk/aquaseal-wet-room-tanking-waterproof-drain-mat-aqwrsdrain?language=en-gb¤cy=GBP&gclid=Cj0KCQjw98ujBhCgARIsAD7QeAjDtCOWDv1UN_Y0-iR4-zW7p74e7RzZ5rYVIP8WokopUpJvDQ0l8bcaApXPEALw_wcB

who or what is the management company? Is this a project manager or is it a rented property?
-
Depending on demand, pipe lengths and sizing, you might even *need* a second pump on the primary to get the required flows. We have two, and the ASHP's internal one has no issues slowing down enough to allow full modulation.

All sorted thanks Dave, 300Mb/s with Zen. I'll be interested to see how long it takes next door to get their Fibrus, there was a guy there this morning to do it followed by much headshaking and pointing at poles so... nada.
-
So after a long wait for OR to update their database we were able to order service, and it was installed on Wednesday. The neighbours both seem to have taken Fibrus up on their current offer so... yep, another run of fibres will soon reside on the pole outside our window. Oddly enough tho, we *still* can't order with Fibrus. Seems they're more interested in the Project Stratum money? Our address didn't exist when the survey was carried out.

CoolEnergy controller has a 4- point scheduler so yes, you can alter DHW setpoint. I do just this to bring the tank up towards the end of the E7 window, ready for the morning showers

Nope, I just live here and occasionally look at displays... remembering that my setup is a touch odd (it's a TS, and all flow through the ASHP passes through the coil as a buffer) the bottom sensor- which really *is* at the bottom, below the coil and lower immersion, generally sits between 30 and 40c but on days with good PV will end up at 90c...
