  1. As you are in a terrace I would find out who your neighbours use for lenders.
  2. Sorry I can't help with the 'Green Network Energy' query but hope you are feeling better now. Building works can cause a lot of stress, you're not the only one.
  3. Well, tbh I wouldn't a bracket in the corner.
  4. I would run them down the corners as that is an electric cable safe zone so less likely to be drilled into.
  5. The stack is made up of McAlpine 40mm BSP fittings with the odd size adaptors for different hoses from Ebay.
  6. From what I've read in the past, burning heather is bad for the peat underlayer and bad for air quality. The rich grouse shooters aren't too worried about that though.
  7. The planners can be very awkward and use ambiguous planning policies to try to thwart peoples plans to build replacement homes out in the sticks. It took years to finally get permission for our build but if you stick at it you can win. If the property is more or less okay it can be a lot easier and quicker to alter it using PD to create what you want.
  8. I used that scheme for my initial designs but that was eleven to twelve years ago, don't know if they still do it.
  9. If you have legal cover with your house insurance I would initially ask their advice.
  10. Sorry I can't help with a recommendation but this might point you in the right direction. https://www.saga.co.uk/magazine/home-garden/gardening/ideas/virtual-garden-design
  11. I had a similar thing at our last house running through the mortar line which had rusted and split the pointing. It turned out to be an old earth wire but never found out why.
  12. You're not being stupid, yes, the arrangement you have is similar to mine, except I only have two toilets connected. The Floplast double branch you linked to is the one I used.
  13. Have you looked at skirting heating systems.
  14. I don't particularly like the feel of UFH and the positioning of radiators affects the layout of rooms so to me skirting heating systems are the answer.
  15. As it's only around a metre deep if I were your neighbour I would simply paint the affected area of wall with https://www.promain.co.uk/interior-wall-and-ceiling-paint/basement-paints/watertite-basement-waterproofing-paint.html
  16. Unfortunately I don't have any experience of skirting heating but have looked at it in the past. It would be my first choice for a wet heating system.
  17. If that's the case why can't you use clear plastic hose?
  18. I had a repair carried out on my softener under guarantee and the Harveys plumber looked at the overflow pipe and the only comment was that it should be a straight pipe from the softener to the waste. Mine curved round and he altered it to be straight.
  19. My water softener overflow and drain both go into a waste with the overflow at the bottom RHS and drain at the top RHS. The BCO didn't say there was a problem and it's worked fine for three years.
  20. They are OK and that is what I used in my house. The BCO was quite happy.
  21. There was some discussion years ago about phthalates in vinyl flooring as they were possibly carcinogenic and as a result you can buy vinyl flooring that is phthalate free. I don't know if that is what you are referring to.
  22. Is that right? I didn't know there was a minimum U factor of 0.1W/(m²K) for roof construction in a PH.
  23. Yeah, this was nearly 20 years later. She gets all the good jobs.
  24. You do have to be very sure about the ground conditions when digging holes. I certainly wouldn't do that around here.
  25. I get Wendy to do work like that. She is my go to person for narrow holes and trenches. This was at our last house back in the 90s and it was only 2m deep.
