  1. @Dave and Helen give MBC Services a call - they are not far from you and they are very good at this sort of stuff from design to servicing.
  2. My JSP hard hat has a built in set of specs / visor that pulls down from the inside. It’s better than nothing and also means you can’t forget to put them on when you’re doing stuff ...
  3. Air pistols aren’t great in this situation. You need a clean shot and 9-12lb is probably the minimum you want.
  4. That is the difference between planning completion and building regs sign off. Building regs may be impacting on the landscape plans where paths and gradients are required.
  5. Lead doesn’t like to be perfectly flat and you’ll get creep on joints so you may want to build in a fall if you have a fairly long run. That way the laps are not under standing water.
  6. No ventilation required and you want it watertight if it’s a bathroom ..!!!
  7. They have their own installation teams .... Read for yourself ... https://www.aspokesmansaid.com/energy/company-10965/fischer-future-heat/1 And they have an interesting way of handling negative feedback on TrustPilot.....
  8. It’s not. It breaches water regulations. It is poisonous. End of. Please stop spouting rubbish that could potentially cause harm to someone.
  9. Careful with that one. You may need landscaping such as paths to meet Part M
  10. One of the biggest laminate worktop manufacturers in the business so not surprised they have gone into this. MSDS not available for their glue but pretty sure it’s StixAll in a different tube
  11. It’s got an arrow on it for flow, and the MIs tell you which way up you can install it.
  12. Do you know how poisonous Ethylene Glycol is ..????!!! There are some very very good reasons why you don’t use car antifreeze in solar systems - the big one being that if it leaks in the tank (which is entirely possible) then you contaminate the whole of the water system with something that can put you in hospital. It’s dangerous ok ..?? As in the next person who owns your system could end up in hospital because you saved £50 on antifreeze...!! Solar rated glycol may be expensive but it’s because it’s Propylene Glycol based. It’s not poisonous. It’s doing what it’s designed to do - not some half arsed replacement that’s cheap but has great big poison warnings on it ..!!!
  13. I think you will find the opposite ..!! A well insulated and sealed new built room will be much warmer than the old one..!!
  14. So..... in English and Welsh building regulations, there are minimum widths for doors, but no minimum height ... go figure..!!
  15. @zoothorn being very rough and ready I think the lowest the collar will be is as I’ve added here based on 1/3rd down.

  17. A collar goes across every pair of rafters - it’s a common detail and pretty easy to design but is usually done as part of a truss if it is being used for an open plan room. They don’t need to be too low, but also they can’t be too high as they don’t work otherwise. The maximum you get away with from memory is 1/3rd height of the roof, so basically if you get a ruler and measure the vertical distance from the apex to the wall plate, you’ll get the maximum height you can get in the roof if you measure 1/3rd down from the apex.
  18. Its German .... ?
  19. The fun can sometimes be when you want to drain down and the hot water tank is in the basement ... either need a drain point or some sort of pump arrangement if you need to “lose” 300 litres or more of water into a drain.
  20. It’s designed to hold pairs of other types of connector. Really useful for outdoor stuff and also with things such as connections for towel rail elements that whilst they are behind a panel, they are in a potentially humid environment.
  21. It can be pretty much anywhere as long as you are within the manufacturers distances for the inlet and exhaust making it to an external wall. Also means both need insulating properly so you don’t get condensation issues.
  22. Funny but I have boxes of both of those but prefer the 222’s as sometimes when you have a lot of connections together it can be easier to move things about to tidy up and then put the more permanent connections in. I also like the Wago junction boxes as they keep things nice and tidy.
  23. Oh, and you can de-mount the push on connectors. If you pull gently and twist back and forward they will spiral back up the solid core ...
  24. That’s that maximum size on the Wago - it will take less. The ones on the bottom right are good - they take a T&E solid core to one side and then you can push down and put a flexible cable in the other.
  25. I’ve started speccing these on any joints where there could be moisture Wiska Joint
