If the road is not a trunk road or a classified road then you don’t need PP to create a field opening. Anything onto a classified road requires PP and highways approval. Nothing stopping you putting your field shelter near the house and creating access to it ... 0.4 Hectares (0.995 acres) is the limit that applies to agricultural PP for class B permitted development rights.

Is that 2 UniQ12 plus direct electric heating ..? Or are you using gas to heat them ..? 2x12 is the equivalent of 560 litres of hot water storage. A 8kw Gen6 Samsung ASHP is change from £3k, controller is £600. Telford 500 litre HP ASHP tank is £1430 delivered. That’s £5k all in, and will also do your UFH too. The Gen6 Samsung also can do 56c on the water if you want to use LST rads.

Which goes back to the argument about if you’re building anything but a specialist and highly insulated and airtight low energy house, it’s a niche product. Just look at the PCM38/45 fiasco and them pulling products from the market, and also having loads of original units having to be refitted - basically they as a manufacturer have used their customers as unwitting beta testers..!

If you are creating a hard standing above a certain size from memory it needs planning. However as @ProDave said, you could use the grass blocks so it looks temporary or just scrape off with a JCB, layer of Terram, hardcore compacted down and gravel over the top. Sprinkling of mixed grass and wildflower seeds down the middle and edges and it will look like it’s been there for years ...

Look at who they have just partnered with though ...! An organisation that doesn’t print price lists and has been regularly had by the ASA for misleading claims on previous heating products ....
-
To add... reason for over sizing is you can hold a bigger volume slightly cooler as you still have the same volume of usable hot water when it’s blended down to 45c which is the measure of capacity. If you look here you will are the 200, 250 and 300 have the same footprint at 580mm just vary in height. About £100 difference in price between top and bottom.

No point as a PHE needs two pumps, two controllers and also then creates an issue with losing stratification in the UVC as it’s constantly flowing. The Telford UVCs with Heat Pump (3.3sqm) coils are fit and forget.

If you use gravel then it is not hard standing. May also be worth putting a field shelter half way along ... you’ve then got a reason to have a driveway to service the “horses”... ?

UVC, larger than you think you need and use ASHP to heat it. Manifold distribution from a central point, blended to suit the outlets.

Yes it’s the latest but it’s not that smart. When they say programme it is setting the stuff such as the input type / temperature, the recharge level at 50/90% and some other real basics.
-
I would expect the storage is negligible and I can't see why you need access as there is nothing up there that needs servicing..?
-
If you have a friendly fabricator then I would get him to weld T sections to the pole to form the tread supports, as a 1.2m oak board will bend. You could still hide that inside your oak - would probably need to be at least 50mm thick though so as not to bend or bow. @Construction Channel is your man for building things from scratch..

I would dig a culvert and let the water use that - if its only garden then make a feature of it..???
-
They recommend you put the internal chamfer on (Wunda stuff..??) so it fits onto the end of the insert correctly.

Yep @Russell griffiths I've just seen !

Min spec to span that with flat roof load is a 100x215 concrete Naylor Lintel I would use a pair of 8x2 C24 with a 150x8mm steel flitch plate across the opening between them bolted at 400 centres. Hang your Joists off this, and you will get best of both worlds

How stiff are those hoses...?? And what diameter..? I would put a tee so the opposing leg goes to the pump and then the parallel legs go to the tank and a gauge port - easy to make with a cheap pressure gauge - what is the pump pressure capacity and what is the MI tolerance..?
-
Why do you want or need one ..??
-
No just switch the fill valve off - it will flush as you pull the pipe out
-
Does the compressor have a valve or a display in it..? Any photos of the output from the compressor..?

For what benefit ..? It’s a posh UVC...? Same capacity, Telford is £611 inc VAT and delivery...

Didn’t think Fisher put prices on theirs ..? Only place I saw was on Midsummer at £2600 ex VAT

Electric Meter first?, MPANs and Registered address - Grrr
PeterW replied to BotusBuild's topic in Electrics - Other
So slightly different in Western Power areas as they won't give you a bare meter connection with no CU tails to connect to. You have to have either a temporary CU or some other fused switch before the will install a meter. @BotusBuild once you book your connection you will be given a date - then book your meter connection with the first supplier that offers a free meter install on a no ties contract then change once you have an MPAN and a meter installed -
They suggest you don't run large loads for long periods through a CU - this is a load that runs at full power for hours.
