  1. Hmm...when I wanted to introduce a bleach shot tube it was shot down! ?
  2. It's warming up via the rads but takes a while. Doesn't help some of the single pipe system runs, uninsulated, under the (again uninsulated), suspended floor which is vented to the outside via the air bricks. All cools down quick too.
  3. Relax and find something to bite down on! ? Sitting here under a blanket in the (freezing) lounge, fantasizing about ripping up the suspended floor, screed rails and pumped concrete!
  4. Erm...scrape with a sharp blade?

One bonus of WAGOs are they're maintenance free when compared to screw type terminals.

Not a bad "starter" kit as an intro into the world of WAGOs: https://www.screwfix.com/p/wago-basic-installer-box-75pcs/48808? 221s are similar but lower profile lever connectors. There's push fit types too. Watch a few videos to get a feel for them.
  7. Hope it's not CCA, (copper clad aluminium). It's sh!t.
  8. Just PVA any plastic conduit if you want to fill over it.
  9. This is my socket box cutter, sure I paid a lot less but it was years ago. YouTube it for videos in use. https://www.screwfix.com/p/armeg-ebs-back-box-wall-chasing-installation-kit-7-pcs/67733? I'm about to lend that and the chaser(s) to a mate, will take pics before I do.
  10. One of my chasers is that well known make "James Andrew's" and the other Einhell ? My back box cutter kit is Armeg
  11. If you neatly cut all the boxes into the wall and chase between them then fit conduit then rewiring is easy. (Could even do in singles). Be careful on the depth of the boxes on the internal walls, you might be drifting into Part A if the walls are thin. Go EASY cutting the boxes! What are the walls made of? Brick, breeze, lightweight block etc? No need to to go up from a socket, into the loft, along and back down. Just come down to the first socket then go horizontal between sockets. Less cable required. A wall chaser is easy but can be VERY dusty without proper extraction kit. Google "NICEIC safe zone diagram" look for the diagram top right. Keep switches, sockets, in the "zones". Lots of info too on that sparkyfacts link.
  12. Do Screwfix still sell the No Nonsense stuff? I think not. You might get it cheap in B&Q on clearance: https://www.trade-point.co.uk/departments/no-nonsense-heating-inhibitor-500ml/53670_TP.prd#

You could replace the current fittings with some WAGO blocks. They'll lie nice and flat in your new fitting I suspect. Pic of the new fitting's base plate pls.
  19. @PeterStarck, ref your question on the other thread. Fag packet sketch at the start here shows my musings to have a buffer tank (central to the house), fed from the oil boiler. Use that for any new UFH circuits to keep separate from the filthy old single pipe system here.
  20. Is that a 2CV? You'd have got £25 ea for those rims even rusty.
  21. With that wagon you're just like Orlando Bloom now! If it all gets too much there's always the Westerham Brewery tap room just down the road if you like your ale! ? https://westerhambrewery.co.uk/
  22. As I couldn't cross from the North I thought walk to Blackfriars and get a slow train. Then I had the mad idea of crossing the river and trying to get to London Bridge station from the South. Found myself in Borough Market full of running members of the public and tooled up police, searching alleyways & screaming at everyone (to run) it was 10 times worse by then. When I got onto the main drag the police were again screaming for everyone to get behind the cordon. It was at this point that yes I joined in and filmed a bit. Doesn't convey the atmosphere at all. So I walked along the South side and across Blackfriars to get the train from there. En route saw a couple of souped up Transit types with grille lights hurtling towards the area. Driven by bearded, beefy lads with tats in T shirts who looked like they knew what they were doing! ?
  23. Don't know if coincidence but I've had the serious squits all weekend and even now! ? Could I suppose be down to Friday night's kebab or jet washing her car underside on Saturday up on the post lift followed by a chilli. The fact that on Friday, as was I walking up to the North side of London Bridge I was confronted by armed police shouting "Run!" just after they shot that nutter probably hasn't helped! Talk about drop a dress size!
