  1. Sweet! https://all3dp.com/1/mycusini-chocolate-3d-printer-review-a-real-treat/
  2. Sandvik have always been my go to ever since my old man worked for BG ? If you want a step up then the white, 8% cobalt ones by Morse are a dream imho. (As are their red hole saws).
  3. I shall open the box with my face as close as possible then.
  4. What do the manufacturers instructions say ref clearance above the fittings? I'm thinking Chinese, Indian or possibly cake!
  5. I think the only downside is if you're unlucky enough to drag a nasty smell like bonfires or sillage through your single intake.
  6. About 3 weeks ago I sent my problem Parkside SDS drill bought from Lidl back to Kompernass for inspection etc all under their pre paid courier service. I've now had an email back saying I'm getting a "package" from them by the end of the week. New drill, repaired old one, I've no idea!
  7. Welcome David. I'd urge you if you can to visit a passive build. The feeling is odd coming from a traditional house. Warm, totally draught free and quiet. Fitting MVHR to a passive place and yours, well there's really no comparison. Have an air tightness test done, I reckon it would shock you. Your place doesn't have an airtight, thermal envelope by design so you've multiple leakage points and thermal bridges. Snap btw! ?
  8. MVHR...less dust in the house, less pollutants like radon, off gassing from furnishings and carpets, people on here with allergies report benefits, mould issues reduced, constant fresh air.
  9. Not me. I only like Aurora / Enlite anyway. Typical instructions: 304852.pdf

Never delivered as I understand. Chap on the mig welding forum just bought the knock off impact gun only to realise his Makita drill/charger/batteries are G series so the batteries don't fit!

DO NOT BUY THIS...SCAM ...according to one of the welding forums: https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/Makita-DGA454-18V-LXT-Angle-Grinder/22031187164?iid=362846091849
  13. I'm baffled...
  14. Could the barn itself be acting as a big "boom box"? Maybe the sound reflecting of angled roofs internally towards the guest accommodation etc.
  15. Have a search on eBay for used "accoustic foam panels" maybe?
  16. I think you need to complain to the builder then have all the windows replaced asap. ?
  17. Isolate the power first ffs! I really wouldn't recommend the dope fiends idea of covering the motor in foam. Recipe for overheat and failure that is. Also makes maintenance a bitch. His was a plastic encased inline fan. I think he put a bin liner over it first then surrounded by the box and foamed.
  18. You can buy cheap acoustic foam panels ex sound studios, look like they're made from foam pyramids. I lined the concealed cistern recess in the stud wall and when it fills it is imperceptible from filling to when it shuts off. Pretty sure it's the geometry of the face as well as the sound absorbing material that combine. It's not resonating off of adjacent walls or roof sheets, maybe loose, is it? You say you had it rewound, dodgy motor bearings can make a lot of noise. I've just stripped a motor at work for the very same issue. (That was a constant extract fan to an underground, bulk (bio diesel) oil storage room).
  19. A guy I knew once asked me a similar question. Turned out he was a weed grower. He and his mate "rented" the spare room in a friends council flat where they had erected a growing tent. The fan was suspended from the tent frame by wires. The flat owner was complaining about the fan noise. His solution was to cut a huge cardboard box to fit round the fan and fill with expanding foam! ?
  20. ...ain't gonna happen! ?
  21. Tell him you can't afford any more extras as you need to buy a new camera! ?

Put some luminous tape on or around the switch. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Self-Adhesive-Light-Tape-3M-Luminous-Safety-Warning-Stickers-Warning-Stickers/293132451757?

  24. I imagine my lad could do it. Is there any restriction on length for the cabling to a sensor?
  25. Erm...maths? I'm really more a monkey see/have idea, do. So...Raspberry Pi. I want to measure 4 temperatures simultaneously. I assume I will use DS18B20 sensors. I'd like to set it up sensing 24/7. An at a glance graph would be good. Even better, linked to a phone. Any pointers? Cheers
