  1. Best idea ? That V shaped internal corner is going to be a really useless space.
  2. Don't have a tray at all and tile to falls? Where's the drain going?
  3. I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with those terms.
  4. Lemon juice...
  5. A big, central steel (red), off the the existing (red) RSJ across the opening was my initial thought. Then new, deeper (black) beams was the plan. I know the concept but have no ideas how to calc the sizes.
  6. So write to PayPal stating that.
  7. 400, 450, 600 centres? Flitch beam spacing or was there just the one? I'd need up to 9 such beams: Just realised there is/are flitch beams in this house now. Didn't put two and two together! I've the dormer extension drawings that I got (as a freebie) from BC a couple of years back.
  8. Ta. What centres?
  9. Armageddon!
  10. I don't know if you have the time to investigate but my mate bought Spax (decking) screws from here in bulk. Even with shipping they were miles cheaper than he could have bought them in the UK. Not sure how / if the whole Brexit thing will have affected things as it was pre this: https://www.klokow-gmbh.de/
  11. If you've any old style Jenolite liquid, that contains phosphoric acid and works too but you can't do patches. It's the whole lot or nothing.
  12. I could have picked you one up with myxomatosis this morning and posted it to spread the love. We've got it locally as happens periodically. Not pleasant to see the poor little sods all blind and emaciated.
  13. Wouldn't the angled face want to be a glazed face?
  14. Flitch beams...I never knew they were called that! Wondering if x2 9"x3"s sistered, with a steel plate inbetween would span 5860/6060mm and negate the need for supporting steels. I came across this flitch beam calculator. Worth spending £20? https://www.yourspreadsheets.co.uk/flitch-beam-design-to-bs-5268.html
  15. I see you lurking & mocking my tiling @pocster Surprised it took this long, all this talk of open bottoms and semis! ?
  16. I've got it...how about a gabion as a pedestal? I think it'd look the nuts.
  17. Go for a tiled box I would. Tapering in on all sides so you can get (via your feet) closer in to the sink. ?
  18. Yes it was, thanks. Thinking now though, that a clear, reinforced tarp might be better for my needs.
  19. Do I recall on here a little while ago someone saying they used clear, scaffolding "tarps"? Super strong and obviously let light through. I might even consider sorting my roof if they're available big enough. Was thinking to put some eye bolts on the dormer faces to tie the tarp to.
  20. Even a letter from them, confirming they sent the certs to A N Other online seller might be enough to placate the inspector.
  21. Door Stop Direct will almost certainly have a copy of the cert they sent: https://www.door-stop.co.uk/Blog/Post/door-stop-u-value-certificates-validated-by-bre You might have to pay to get a copy mind.
  22. Don't use what I have on my drive.....compacted fire ash, full of rusty bits of nail from the pallets/scrap wood the previous owners burnt. Always coming to the surface and INTO MY TYRES!
  23. Similar I think to what we call crag round here.
  24. No harder to do really. The little "round" will be a tad lower than the skimmed ceiling is all and need filling. No good now but one "cheat" I did, pre skimming, was to fit the round back in and level with the unplastered boards. Two little battens and one central screw to "clamp" it. I then squirted in no nails (or similar) into the gap and let it go off. Once the little batten was removed it's all dead level. The batten(s) become superfluous. I've done similar in a brick wall, filling an old soil pipe hole. Affixed with chemical resin.
  25. With hindsight I'd have gone for a half or no pedestal. ...and maybe paid a tiler! ?
