  1. Ah, you didn’t say that in your original piece.
  2. (Give it a shove 😱)
  3. Why? (My neighbour down there had lots).
  4. IMO that’s more than enough to compensate for the notches, well done 👍
  5. Just glad to be part of the collective 😎
  6. https://www.screwfix.com/p/bosch-expert-hex-shank-multi-purpose-drill-bits-5-piece-set
  7. +1 for Octopus, and I can get you a referral code worth £50 off your first bill if you want 😎
  8. I don’t think so unless you can delay the plasterer? Get the ring behind the cabinets. Tiles will cover a multitude of sins as long as most of the wall is “finished”.
  9. “To err is human” (so don’t beat yourself up mate) the person that’s not made a mistake has not been born yet 👍
  10. Where I have moved too I have a neighbour who’s oil boiler (external) sounds like a jet engine firing up on and off all day. (it is a very quiet location).
  11. I have used This company in the past and found them good. https://theukelectricgatecompany.co.uk/?gclid=Cj0KCQiAsburBhCIARIsAExmsu6_sEpNNtsAc3BrDTTXkHGdNYgx4PYl85HdFKC4mDJAt57hrOPwYX4aAu3kEALw_wcB
  12. Oops, at least they fessed up and agreed to pay up.
  13. Yes, that end wall (opposite doors) will be shorter in height at the point than where it joins the side to the right to maintain an equal slope over the whole roof (shame I can’t do CAD 🤷‍♂️)
  14. Having different slopes complicates it, why not have the same slope as the short side and the back wall will slope slightly down to the pointy corner. If not, what’s your decking material.? If you want different slopes as per your drawing then a 15mm ply sheet fixed to rafters will twist enough to cope with the different angles then felt/GRP/EPDM.
  15. Do you have Wi-Fi?, my place has a “nest” which I can control the heating over the internet, not sure it can control an air to air heat pump tho 🤷‍♂️
  16. No, crack on 👍
  17. I “think” this looks sound (but I am no SE) especially if every cross is skew nailed, screwed or bracketed to bond old to new.
  18. I believe that will mitigate deflection completely. 👍(now 16 screws in total)
  19. But will you? Timber has an insulating value in its self (someone will quote it shortly), yes not as good as “insulation” but not as bad as “fresh air”.
  20. Hi, bring on the questions,!!
  21. No, the new timbers are bigger than existing so will not deflect as the current ones may do. Not sure of span tables for these but 8 x 2 sound very good especially if sistered to the existing.
  22. 👍 It’s the water it holds that is heavier than the bath itself (unless cast iron).
  23. Ah could not see those, yes but as said above sistering or ply will mitigate any risk of the timber You removed.
  24. Is this ground floor or first floor?, if ground floor i would be tempted to rip the lot out as you need “solid” to tile onto with new moisture proof chipboard. If first floor then remove floorboards or see what joists you have throughout.
