  1. Yes, listen to those that have them and rate them.
  2. The only electrics in a blower one is the small air pump, they are usually made in Japan and mostly used fir coy carp ponds and been around for years. I bought a spare diaphragm for mine (a few quid) as that’s about the only thing that can go wrong.
  3. Trying to think logically about this (as I know zilch about it!) are they installed and tested on certain buildings to meet certain insurance requirements?, if they are self installed as a precaution (to hopefully reduce building damage) and not done to meet insurance spec why would that be a bad thing? Can a badly installed lightning protector cause more damage than not having one? (I have had a chimney blown off by a lightning strike and blown every electrical device in that property!!!!!).
  4. 👍, my son calls it the “poo jacuzzi” (because it’s bubbling away) 🤣
  5. That says it all really, I have seen this type of thread before and the end result is mostly the same, not worth it.
  6. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
  7. Oh dear, not far from @SteamyTea, never mind 🤣.(or a million miles from me).

    Hi

Welcome Mike, that sounds great and we want to hear more, we love pics so don’t be shy.
  9. Yes I have them around the house and they look great, I may well do the drive in them (if I ever get to finish 😱)
  10. I would still leave the wall fixings with the nut on the right h/s, if you cannot get the nut on the left one you need to pack the hole around the threaded stud to stop the basin lifting in that corner from the basin being leaned on at the front right corner 🤔.
  11. Or fit a batten across the back (won’t be seen) and a small bracket or batten under the side 👍
  12. That’s all I used (they were resurfacing roads near me and I got it cheap as I was close). Drive still not finished but block paving on paths and patio on top of it has worked well.
  13. It looks like the left hole in the porcelain is too close to the top to allow the nut to fit? Is this correct?
  14. How about using old pallets (it’s what I did) plus some old tin roofing.
  15. This and plenty more on u tube
  16. Ah, I understand now, I have no idea but mine is about 1” and I used expanding foam tape on the window to seal it to the bricks.
  17. Frankly it’s knowing what you want/can afford.
  18. I don’t understand the question!. I have check reveals in my brick and block build, the “check” but means the windows sit behind the brickwork rather than “in” the hole/aperture, the “check” is the brick width (100mm ish).
  19. Ah, my adapter didn’t have rope in it, hence why I fitted some!
  20. Yes not too tight in case of expansion, fire rope then fire cement over 👍
  21. Foundations are underground so that’s not what you are looking at, that looks like it was a garage??? If you post up the plans we can look fir you.
  22. I believe catnic do steel lintels like angle iron so you don’t see them. https://uklintels.com/product/sl100-tr/
  23. Oh yes, 200mm batt filled cavity works a treat 👍
  24. Nothing wrong with 6x3 sheets.
