  1. Sent my Vat return in August 2022. Rang them last week and after a 45 minute hold, spoke to a human who said an Advisor would call back at a specific time on Friday which they did. Apparently they are just processing late July 2022. Potentially another 4-6 weeks.
  2. Purchased a Leica Disto D1 from here : https://www.thetapestore.co.uk/laser-measures/leica-disto-laser-measures/leica-disto-d1-laser-measure The buttons are flush which sometimes makes it a bit awkward to use.
  3. @Dave and Helen I have RWH bought from the above company. Very helpful, I changed my order after paying a deposit and all sorted with ease. Used for WC's and washing machine and recently lots of cement mixing.
  4. Our MVHR supplier provided a unit based on the floor area of our new build, not the volume and with many vaulted and high ceilings really did not meet the requirements to pass building regs. However a solution was found to satisfy building control and it works fine.
  5. HDD check required! 😉
  6. If you are interested in growing both trees and agricultural / horticultural crops on the same piece of land have a look at the link below. https://www.agroforestry.co.uk We planted a thousand trees as soon as we moved onto our plot 12 years ago with a subsidy from Woodland Trust. Avoid the BBC.
  7. I used 22mm Caberdek P5 with D4 glue and screws.
  8. Hi Tom, would you be able to share a drawing or photograph of the above detail.
  9. @Dominic @Blooda @daunker I sent off my VAT Reclaim 6 weeks ago but not had any response yet. Sent via Royal Mail and delivered and signed for. Wondering if either of you have had any progress. Thank you.
  10. This is the solution. Our local farmer had scissor lift and tele handler and helped remove large steel frame Agri shed for us. Then digger to remove existing concrete pad before starting to level the site.
  11. Cladding is British WRC. About 200mm wide boards fixed using Tongue Tite.
  12. I appreciate cost is a factor. The Spax fixings are 20 pence each and I used the Tongue Tite fixings at 5 pence each from Toolstation.
  13. I fitted about 250sqm of Cedar using stainless steel screws. The heads disappear under the surface.
  14. Nope, and baffles, partitions, ceiling hatch and 21 fake hip rafters. The existing roof space had no insulation or even felt under the tiles. Lessons learnt if I have to do it all again.
  15. We had a Brown long eared bat maternity roost in our existing dwelling. 2m minimum height was required and like for like was requested for the space so built a 12m x 6m garage, planning showed no interest in the size of the new garage which was a win. The underside of the roof had to be lined with bitumen F1 felt and entrance and exit points at each gable end. The south facing roof had to be filled with cement between the battens under the metal roof to retain the heat and a heater inside! Try for the garden office roof space.
  16. In Lambeth CPZ it is £23.10 per trade vehicle per day.
  17. I bought a single Lyte roof ladder 4.5m to fit 300sqm of Tata Urban Seam roof. Very good quality and easy to move around.
  18. Here is a video of spring replacement. Velux are usually very helpful.
  19. What pitch is the roof? It can have an effect on centre pivot windows. You could ask Velux if some stronger friction springs are available.
  20. This. Used the disc below. Perfect.
  21. We have similar size home of 275sqm but large volume at 750m3. The ASHP used 1900kWh for heating and 1800kWh for DHW during 2021. I would recommend some PV and a PV diverter.
  22. I have used locally (South Devon) sourced Western red cedar, definitely knottier than imported. These boards are 20mm x 195mm. You can see the difference in colour after a year being installed.
  23. No, In my experience dealing with a National Park. And back then it was free. Our first application was then refused which in retrospect worked in our favour.
