  1. Just a quick answer, yes for rooms above the ground floor with vaulted ceilings. Our eaves height was 4 metres and ridge height 6 metres. Obviously no loft space but bright bedrooms with gable end windows and Velux. Others will be along with help.
  2. I have just fitted 60sqm of Parador 914mm x 457mm x 6mm LVT and used a table saw, circular saw and jigsaw. Tile first before fitting the WC as others have mentioned. If using a Stanley do a couple of test strips first.
  3. BPC do provide airflow calculations. Building Control will require a commissioning report. Have a look at the thread enclosed.
  4. What a lovely maisonette in NW5. Just looked at the Architects website and is indeed hi spec / finish and a price to match, 5 to 6K sqm. In South London I would expect to pay half that. Its a London Ting. BTW your Cost Plan PDF is readable, hence looking at your architects site.
  5. We have used the TP Link below. Simple and effective.
  6. Hi Conor, would you mind sharing the model numbers of your kit. Trying to get my head around all this. Thank you.
  7. Looks like a Propane gas regulator.
  8. @oldsteel Paid yesterday, after my first phone call in January turn around time was 5 weeks. I did call them on Tuesday about a rejected invoice due to an illegible vat number which I have now resupplied. They said they are now processing December.
  9. Unexpectedly my invoices were returned today via Royal Mail with accompanying letter saying payment will be made within 10 days. They excluded one invoice saying it was a pro forma? not sure but will contest it as it has nearly a grand of VAT. All I can recommend is send your invoices and documents using a secure guaranteed service and then phone them for a reference number and call them regularly. Mine took nearly 6 months.

  12. Some friends bought a new build on an estate and offered a rather awkward parcel of land adjoining the curtilage which they purchased. Detached and end of cul de sac. They have just secured planning for large double garage and accommodation above. No guarantees but if the price is right, go for it.
  13. Thanks for the reply. I do appreciate MVHR in the new build, do some MVHR systems have a heater to boost the heat recovery supply?
  14. Regarding MVHR even with heat recovery, during the recent low temperatures the incoming supply is about 16c which is then constantly lowering the internal room temperature which then requires more UFH input. Wondering if it is worth switching the unit off during these periods or is this a limitation of MVHR.
  15. What is the thickness of the boards and width between the joists, I used 22mm Caberdek at 400 centres and noggins not necessary. Glued and screwed.
  16. Update. Received letter from National DIY VAT Team yesterday, outlining they have received my documents and now hope to deal with the claim in 6 weeks. That took 5 months!
  17. Use some D4 or similar.
  18. Not received a reference number before I made this call last week. First contact since I posted back in August.
  19. 550mm is probably the minimum. Coat hanger width is average 450mm.
  20. Sent my Vat return in August 2022. Rang them last week and after a 45 minute hold, spoke to a human who said an Advisor would call back at a specific time on Friday which they did. Apparently they are just processing late July 2022. Potentially another 4-6 weeks.
  21. Purchased a Leica Disto D1 from here : https://www.thetapestore.co.uk/laser-measures/leica-disto-laser-measures/leica-disto-d1-laser-measure The buttons are flush which sometimes makes it a bit awkward to use.
  22. @Dave and Helen I have RWH bought from the above company. Very helpful, I changed my order after paying a deposit and all sorted with ease. Used for WC's and washing machine and recently lots of cement mixing.
  23. Our MVHR supplier provided a unit based on the floor area of our new build, not the volume and with many vaulted and high ceilings really did not meet the requirements to pass building regs. However a solution was found to satisfy building control and it works fine.
  24. HDD check required! 😉
