Vaillant ecotec 938 heating resume delay faultby 2 minutes
Nickfromwales replied to shab's topic in Boilers & Hot Water Tanks
@shab Hi and welcome. FYI, I've deleted your other post as it's best to keep the subject separate and in one place, ( or things get messy and difficult to monitor ). As it's the heatstore it's a different beast to the combi. I'll check with Vaillant as to what the normal sequence of events are, but if it's the exact same 2 minutes or so EVERY time after domestic hot water ( DHW ) is drawn off, then it'll likely be the normal return to service sequence. Legionella purge ( purposely high heating ) of the hot storage tanks iirc is factory programmed to happen at 03:00 or 04:00 hrs so the 70+oC water is less likely to be drawn by the consumer, therefore reducing the risk of scalding. I'll update ASAP, but I wouldn't panic about it being a fault TBH unless the times / durations of these events differ each time. -
"Shitoff" is not a term we appreciate on this forum. "Jetwashmyarseuntilthecraphasgone" will be what we use from now on. The management.

Adding radiators without hiding pipework

Both pal. Trouble free motoring then. ? Have a good 400mm of pipe before the AAV to allow air to accumulate. -

Simple fix will be turn off the ones that work as their probably bypassing and stopping the pump from pushing the air locks out. . If there are no automatic air vents in the attic then there's your problem as air is getting trapped there. -

Oh dear. . You may want to sit down. Youve piped it wrong my old pal. You'll need to redo it. You've got the rads in series and then you've teed across the series run to branch off. See above for correct parallel flow and return circuit connections. ? -

Anyone have experience of Nuaire Positive ventilation?
Nickfromwales replied to JohnW's topic in Ventilation
Just ask the main contractor to simply omit it from the schedule. Your the boss remember. . -
Deffo the only way if your not on site every day for that week @joe90.

Where does it draw the air from ? If it's not pre charged with any heat then it's forcibly pushing heat out as well as moisture. -
I fitted a cloakroom suite into a bookcase on top of a landing once. 1450x600mm internal dimensions. Customer still raves about it as its opposite all the bedroom doors ( no ensuites ). It's a strictly 'pee only' loo as that was one where I had to use a Saniflow compact.

If you can't get a cloakroom in because of regs, run the services, cap them off, get your house signed off and put it in afterwards .

When they're open, yes. Is the idea to have permanently open trickle vents? Another bad point if so . -

Plus the ventilation heat loss has to be offset with something, like fortifying with electricity I'd fit mvhr and compromise elsewhere, seems madness not to IMO. -
Progress at last!
Nickfromwales replied to Moira Niedzwiecka's topic in General Self Build & DIY Discussion
Nothing worse than problems which have gone unnoticed, beyond where they can be economically or practically revisited. At least you've managed to turn that situation around. Are you project managing and delegated the window fitting, or did the TF company always have the tender in for that ? -
I think it's better to add some depth now, at the design stage, to allow an 'insulation slipper' for the ground floor maybe. Needs a proper think before living with the compromise.
-
That's all fully supported from underneath, but I doubt it could be applied to @LadyBuilder 's slab as its unsupported at the junctions where the thermal break would have to be. .
-
If they're already pissed off, see quote earlier, then it must show. I get on great with my Neigbours, and we muck in when someone wants to do something, not moan and groan. If they're getting on well, great, but my point is not to struggle or compromise purely because the Neigbours are kicking off.

How would one go about that ?
