  1. https://www.amazon.co.uk/World-Data-Cat6-Network-Premium-Ethernet/dp/B002K75KCE/ref=sr_1_16?crid=1JPJOY1MI3C6E&keywords=5m+external+patch+cable+white&qid=1687196419&sprefix=5m+external+patch+cable+white%2Caps%2C86&sr=8-16 Just change it if / when it dies. Will probably last for years tbh.
  2. Amazon sell ready made outdoor patch cables in various lengths. I bought a load to install temporary WAP's on my current project as the mobile signal was dire or non-existent. They have been stood on, left out in all weathers, and everything else in-between. Still worked after over 18 months of that.
  3. In a weeks time this will be a very different situation. Just reassure yourself and SWMBO that this chap is not going to come through your door, that’s not going to happen. I strongly doubt you’ll ever see this person ever again, unless the police ask you to identify him. Update us on what they say when they give you some feedback.
  4. Acting in self-defence is a reaction. Buying a taser and waiting for this chap to come back is pre-meditated, eg you'll be off to jail in a heartbeat. How long you spend there will depend on whether this individual has an underlying health issue (pacemaker etc) and you've inadvertently killed him. Stand down with the Charles Bronson approach!! If all he did was shout and try to intimidate you then it shows he's just got a screw loose and is highly unlikely to take this any further. After the red mist subsides, most episodes become water under the bridge. Take some time to reflect on what went on, and realise this was a case of mistaken identity and not a result of something you did (unless the Uber driver cut this guy up and you were there for him to vent at?). Building gates higher is something to do to protect you against creeper burglaries and trespassers, but they don't shout and scream, they work in near silence. This guy was clearly just a showman, as anyone seriously pissed off and after revenge wouldn't have spoken to you other than to say "have this", upon where you'd have received a swift smack to the chops, or 2. The only issue here is (setting aside emotional upset and you both having to eventually 'get over this') if he comes back to vandalise your property / vehicles. I'd just buy a couple of cheap battery Ring cameras and a outdoor POE WAP, cabled through a window which you can then just close over the cable, and run those for a month or so until this anxiety subsides. Which it will. It's just raw right now as this has clearly shaken both of you up badly. After days, then weeks, then months of nothing happening you'll realise this was just a one-off altercation that shouldn't have happened. The police will 100% pursue this chap through his reg number, so also await their response. They may even suggest restorative measures, where they accompany this guy to your house / you meet at the police station etc for you to discuss it on neutral grounds and to allow both parties to speak. Once you offer assurance that you couldn't have possibly done anything to this chap he will then have to apologies and then you won't have such anxiety any longer. He will then be bound over to keep the peace or charged and put in front of a judge, you'll likely be asked to decide as you'll have to press charges when he is tracked down. Possibly after speaking to him you may decide that him being bound over would suffice.
  5. Battery powered Ring cams are quick and simple to install, but tbh won’t deter someone like this individual. At the level that escalated to, you just want evidence / clear footage so the police can support robustly. Was this a case of mistaken identity? Have you ever met / seen this individual before? People who are highly emotionally charged are often irrational and their actions become entirely indiscriminate. This person left in their car and then came back again?
  6. Get temp readings at the manifold that services that area. See if the return pipe is warmer than the flow.
  7. @Mr Blobby Have a day off mate!! Why do you think you need to cool a small area over the kitchen!? Yup.
  8. If no shower door / screen, then be sure to fit hardwood door linings / architraves etc and paint them if so required. They all need to be sat into a fat bead of CT1 and then you'll not suffer any degradation of the timberwork.
  9. At the end(s), yes, 100%. No need at all. These trays are the dachshunds danglers. Put 6mm ply under the tray, then lay the tray on top of that. Your tiler is spot-on, and you just wrap around the rest with more 6mm ply, glued and screwed at 100mm o/c's. Are you using the Impey (water-guard?) system eg the membrane to go wall to wall sides and ends?
  10. Header tank etc. The "break" (iirc A-A) is required to separate potable feed from Cat5 RWH (as RWH is classed as more dangerous than effluent!). It's the reason you cannot have the cold mains top-up feed in the turret of the RWH tank eg to prevent (eradicate) the possibility of accidental human consumption / reverse contamination of the potable systems. I've looked at where you are with this, and you'll defo be staying with what you have. My recommendation would be to jack that tank up as high as is absolutely possible. Connect and test what you have, and deal with issues IF they occur. You have one or more get out of jail card(s); add a pump later down the line (the type that people have to add to gravity cold supplies to appliances such as washing machines). LINK Or, cover your arse for the whole house with one of these LINK As said, do nothing until there is a problem.
  11. Do the MI's mention the option to use an accumulator vs a break tank? I don't fit break tanks / go gravity tbh, just seems like a leap backwards to me. If that's an option, just switch the break tank to an accumulator (100L or so should suffice ) LINK and then you'll have mains pressure to everything. Just noticed the system says "a minimum of 5m between the bottom of the break tank and the washing machine"! To answer your actual question, you may have issues with the time it takes the WC's to fill, but I doubt it would genuinely matter that much. Just with gravity you usually preserve the pressure / flow by upsizing the pipework to compensate, hence they recommend / spec 22mm.
  12. Move to Swansea mate Perpetual sunshine here 😎
  13. 25mm Marmox + skim. Almost 100% of the thickness is then insulation.
  14. Statistically, falling from a single storey is worse than 2, as you do one revolution in mid air apparently and not land on your head. Statistically, I’ll attempt to avoid either
  15. I always recommend Marmox boards and plaster directly to them.
  16. This will give you almost "on - off" heating characteristics. Is that a choice, or a constraint?
  17. We've had a quick chat behind the scenes, and it's been decided that you'll kneel on a half-dozen pencils dressed as a cheerleader for this outburst. Due to impracticalities with locations etc, please could you upload the footage to YouTube and post links here.
  18. @Rodger'd You should know better, but it has been a quiet week for you two so I knew it would only be a matter of time (before another crime against decency was commited)... For all that is holy, please return your shorts to the appropriate position. @pocster, FYI that's all the way up, before you say otherwise. Everybody else, please return to your homes. There will be no public spanking, not today anyways. The management.
  19. They don't make gloves thick enough for me to "handle" you mate
  20. Do you defo need the cooling effect?
  21. One client came in just short of £25k and 2 years of bickering.
  22. Oh. BPC used to list one, but it's disappeared from their website. Maybe ominous... You'll probably have to sell a kidney, but:- https://products.zehnder.co.uk/en/product/zehnder-comfoclime-36 I think you'd be looking at a complete swap out, but this may allow you to do away with the duct heaters. I'm not sure of your heat demand, so that would need close examination.
