Trench block or cavity with infill below DPC advice required?
JOE187 replied to ruggers's topic in Brick & Block
I have recently ued https://www.insulationuk.co.uk/ for 240mm Eps in new build of floor 84m area. 2 layers of 100mm and 140mm staggered. I think you would find 260mm eps 70 at 250mm around 30 to 35% cheaper than the 160mm of Pir! -

HI I have the 255l twin coil no problems, immersion in perfect place to run diverter. 50mm Pir on top of cylinder and bubble foil jacket virtually no noticeable heat loss. -
I have Ariston Evo system 18kw rated down to about 8kw it runs dual temperatures the rads at between 36 to 46 degree C depending on weather compensation and room stat, hot water for unvented cylinder is set to 56 degree C. All components controllled by Ariston Sensys I installed this system in 2012 Self build and have not touched it other than cleaning condense trap and a yearly gas safe check!

Just seen this post, could you core drill 125mm holes and put 125mm tube through with adaptor as below? https://www.bes.co.uk/domus-supertube-125-elbow-bend-with-spigot-125-mm-od-15545/ then a vertcal lenth of 125mm channel and this adaptor on top https://www.bes.co.uk/domus-supertube-125-vertical-90-bend-white-11415/ Then use this airbrick! https://www.bes.co.uk/domus-horizontal-louvred-airbricks-and-damper-200-mm-x-56-mm-white-15668/ Also available in 100mm sizes but not quite regulation airflow.

New Zealand Nudura build with high compressive strength eps at bottom of the wall seem a good way to go. 6mins in shows this detail.

Thought this vid may help!!

One way to prove system is circulating would be to connect a standard washing machine hose on to the drain valves at the end of manifold making sure no air is left in hose before switching on! This would be like adding a short loop on the manifold but would show up if the main pipe work is airlocked or the loops.
-
Yes agree with you, but aLso protect ultra is an expensive reflective VCL and so would not cover it with a layer of PIR Board.
-
Can you confirm all the white valves are fully open and the top flow gauge adjusters are also open and the system has no air in it??

HI Mike Below is the info from Protect, suggest you contact there technical for u value calc missing off the 30mm kingspan and install 25 x50 counter battern then plasterboard. gives service cavity then. Protect VC Foil Ultra Protect VC Foil Ultra - low emissivity and reflective air and vapour control layer (AVCL) suitable for timber, masonry or steel construction. This highly reflective vapour control layer enhances the thermal performance of walls, ceilings and floors when installed with the foil facing into a still airspace. The Protect VC Foil Ultra vapour control later helps to achieve a low overall U-value as part of the wall build up.
-
My thoughts are from your SAP layer 5 and 6 should be swapped so the ultra foil is on top of quinntherm and faces into the service cavity to produce best results.
-
Did you put a 45° fillet at the bottom or just go straight down to the bottom of the wall? Yes just used quick set cement and primed when dry.
-
Nudura used on my build BCO would not allow nudura peel and stick as not BBA approved at the time. I went for RIW sheet seal 226 and protection board with out primer. I only primed the concrete footing. https://www.riw.co.uk/products/sheet-applied-systems/sheetseal-226
