No, these are what I used https://www.tfmsuperstore.co.uk/products/bottle-gully-110mm-inc-grid/ I didn't want all the rubbish in the gutters - easier to clean low down.
-
Does the chimney shrink in size higher up? I had similar to you but upstairs it slimmer down to ~ 12" x 12". I made up 2 gallows brackets & bolted them in place - BC was fine with that. Just depends on load I guess. Good luck

I used these - working really well. Didn't want leaves building up in the gutter - I'd rather the problem low down for easy unblocking! Depending on falls - I'd prob run door threshold to A and then straight run from A to B. How much H2O will the threshold produce?

so if they don't know either way what about writing to them stating what you are about to do and requesting a response from them either way? -

We have just been told we need to go for full planning to put a new entrance in - it can't be done with PD. Do you know if your entrance has got planning or has it just developed that way? Highways were able to tell us who owner the verge - they did with us. -
Facing a similar situation - would £40/m2 be a fairly average price to tarmac over a stoned track? Does that include kerbs as well? Thanks for any further info

Hi Dave, We have been at it over 4 years now and our initial insurance company has declined to continue - they said their policies were not intended for anything longer. So eventually a local broker found us some insurance - many declined since we don't have a completion certificate. I think ours states its a house under major renovations. Cost went up by ~ £300 a year. A stressful time tbh. Hopefully you are still within their timeframes and renewal is straightforward. Good luck.

Insulation for internal stud walls and above ceilings??
CC45 replied to IanR's topic in Sound Insulation
I just took their advice, like you I asked about putting more in there but was told more cost effective to use heavier PB. I think they want a decent gap either side of the fill, 20mm aint a lot & I suspect 75mm would effectively end up touching one side or the other. -

I used 50mm in a 90mm stud - RW45. Thats what Rockwool said. When I suggested filling the 90mm gap they said not to do that. Just increase density / depth of plaster board. -
sorted - thanks Jeremy.

I will give it another go now ....

Hi Jeremy, that report seems to be unavailable.... Interesting topic.
-
I've fitted 2 x 50mm, heck of a lot simpler now than in a few month time.

so which ones are good? -
high up on the back put a thin piece with a hole in it - use the following to attach it https://www.screwfix.com/p/hafele-keku-fixings-m4-x-48mm-10-pack/8663T?tc=GC5&ds_kid=92700046252832711&ds_rl=1241687&ds_rl=1245250&ds_rl=1249413&ds_rl=1245250&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIqPrn4K3C5gIViaztCh2PGw-hEAQYAyABEgKuI_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds Finger through hole to detach the piece. The lower piece is attached using https://www.ironmongerydirect.co.uk/product/keku-drop-on-clip-frame-and-panel-pack-black-pack-10-355267?vat=1&shopping=true&infinity=ict2~net~gaw~ar~387176555199~kw~~mt~~cmp~Smart+Shopping+>+Top+Products~ag~Ad+group&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIqPrn4K3C5gIViaztCh2PGw-hEAQYBCABEgLZ-vD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds with the top panel removed this can then be lifted up and then out. With a thin top panel, unless you lay on the floor, no one should see it. Any good for you?

this looks like the ticket to me. good work @Temp

I was just looking for something to shire a small pool of light onto the switch... @Mr Punter that looks very tidy - something to aim for I guess.
-
I've finally got sick of groping for the light switch in our garage - so I thought I'd put a switch on the door and connect that up to a small led - like a plinth light, that would shine down from the ceiling illuminating the switch when the door is opened. Not keen on buying a pack of 10 + 1 extra transformer just to use 2 lights (got 2 switches to illuminate) so has anyone got a different solution? cheers. cc

I'm just getting myself in the correct emotional place to be able to cope with another @Onoff thread.
-
I used this - just fantastic
-
I haven't used it but I think it should be glued and screwed. I'm very pleased with the Ardex AF200 & the ditra matting. If you go for the matting just remember there's 2 types - one takes elec UFH wire and the other doesnt. I'd not use anything else tbh.
-
Ardex 200 I think we used to stick our Ditra down with. Sticky as heck.

Well some progress. For those who wanted a picture of silencers... All suspended off chains but could easily be done with something more sound proof. The 150mm flexi pipe I've used to join the silencer to the MVHR is a pain to put on and its not overly robust. I've ordered some more connectors and I will put these into the ends of the pipes and then slide the flexi over that. All mounted in an unheated attic - it takes a lot of time to do all the insulation in amongst all that timber. Hope that's what some of you wanted to see.
