gc100
Hello, On all our big sliders, when we get a morning condensation on the glass outside I see 4 sucker marks on each pane. Any recommendations how to remove these? Cleaning doesn't work. I was thinking glass polish like you get for car windows?
dangti6
Tried a cream cleaner and/or IPA?

I think I just need something abrastive like a old school jiff or this stuff perhaps. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Prounol-Cerium-Oxide-Polishing-Solution/dp/B08BLT3BZK/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?crid=1HDOI35SXVW0&dchild=1&keywords=glass+polish&qid=1635245392&sprefix=glass+polish%2Caps%2C160&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExV1pIVUNSMTcyTFgxJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNzMwODgyMVIyVlBaQVgyMzJJViZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMjc2MTE1MjlZSklVMUhXSUxLNCZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU= Just wanted to see if anyone knew 100% what works (or not). thanks
Onoff
Could be worse, could be footprints! ? Multisolve? Leave it to work as per instructions though.
markc
After putting big panes in with a crane and suckers, or one of our guys grinding near a pane we used white scotchbrite pads to polish any marks out
wozza
Before using anything harsh, try Windolene (pink cream stuff) or as you have said a cream type car glass polish. Edited October 26, 2021 by wozza
Makeitstop
Or Meths. It may be a case of simply degreasing the surface, but as Wozza says above, I'd be inclined to try harsh or abrasive products last.

Nothing abrasive though . X marks the spot ? Edited October 26, 2021 by pocster
Ferdinand
Are these like marks on brushed alu fridges? Perhaps WD40? Or computer screen cleaner? Or baby oil? Or perhaps a razor blade scraper, as used for ceramic hobs?

ProDave
5 years since our windows went in and we also still get imprints of where the suckers were when there is outside condensation. Just what do the suckers do to the glass that marks it so it still shows under these conditions? I don't buy it being anything left behind by the rubber of the pads, it is almost as if the vacuum has actually changed the surface of the glass? Temp
Are those marks caused by damage to the coating on the glass? eg because they put it in the wrong way around the suckers marked the coating? If that's not it I would try methylated spirit or IPA (not the beer).

The suction cup marks may not even be as a result of installing the windows in our houses, they might even pre date that and be from handling the glass in the factory.

MJNewton
I'd always give a Magic Eraser I try - never ceases to amaze me how effective it is on a whole variety of surfaces. Handy things to have around so nothing lost if it doesn't work. I just pull a small chunk off and it ends up lasting me years despite having a young daughter who draws on walls and furniture from time to time. I have them on my Fakro windows...none installed with suckered so all must be from Factory. Can see two distinctive suckered in each. I will probably try a clay bar at some point or some detailing stuff I use for my car...or we'll used to before I had kiss and decided to build a house.
