Planning permission or PD for a garage
DragsterDriver replied to Jonathan1969's topic in Planning Permission
Interesting! I haven’t had my pd rights removed- it’s just a pain to complete the build before being able to use them! But- if they don’t revoke them I guess I could apply again. what really interests me is how far they’ll amend plans on a section 73...because I’m not sure I can face planning! -
A customer just did that, I took the plan down Howdens for a price match

Fine for a warm roof, joists, firring pieces, thin osb, membrane, pir board, 18mm osb fixed with long screws.

it’s open ended at the moment- labour is in such short supply if they weren’t mates I think people could ask double rates. It’s that busy.

Seems fair comment that

It’s worldwide from covid, American framers are being hammered with obscene price increases. Also the glass shortage worldwide is made worse here by pilkington closing two out of three furnaces for maintenance. I've seen a lot of projects being shelved (large and small) due to cost increases. I’ve certainly picked a horror time to build mine.

The wall planner sounds good, just tell him you have a strict budget and need to make sure you’re keeping to it.

Yeah- the prep for tiling is pretty hardcore. Others may vary but the tilers I use just won’t entertain the anhydrate any longer. Too many problems.

Try a glass with red wine on the base.

Cement based everytime with liquid screed.

Yep! I’m Cambridgeshire too and love pics/plans. more the better!

Call their rep and ask him how many packs it’s ok to open and check incase he needs to take them back and exchange. Get his email, send him the pics, get return mail confirming you can open packs to check. He may well just come out to site.

liquid cemex. I’ve forwarded his details over:)

I can’t recall what I pay him without checking some invoices- but he’s good and reasonable. the Laitence requires loads of prep and most tilers I know won’t touch it now, Even with the decoupling Matt etc.

not completely but I wouldn’t be without one, lifesaver especially on thick boards because it cuts so true. I think the worst dust is when you see people hammering on board between rafters when it’s clearly too tight ?

I’m near Cambridge and pay my Screeder per m2 installed. I’ve moved over to the cement based, too many problems with annydrite and floor coverings.

It’ll probably be the next asbestos- it’s horrific. Bit excessive but I have the festool PIR cutter that attaches to the extractor. Not cheap but worth it for a big job. I do lofts all the time but I’d still have one for a self build.
