  1. I did ask somebody about section 73 and CIL- they said “if the footprint of the building stays the same its not a problem”. this was free ‘pub’ advice mind...
  2. Tile batten has doubled to around £1m and wickes 4x2 cls is now a tenner a length or something insane.
  3. I’m planning to have all my ‘plant’ in the detached garage and ducted to the house maybe 6m away. From asking around that’s fine using ducts and the correct insulated pipe work.
  4. Up first I chose ‘Right said Fred’ in Sheffield building next door to each other. Don’t like the houses, they’re about £300k over budget at least.

  10. the insulated ones should have a mesh embedded slap above- which I’ll put the underfloor in and power float before erecting the timber frame

  12. That’s what I was thinking! That floorspan system is eps so 200mm is their biggest.

  16. That’s really interesting! As a youngster I worked on jobs where the digger driver got his lines wrong ? it occurred to me I’ve never heard of a new build being checked

  19. It’s about that at wickes inc vat. Learned this week - the USA aren’t buying our ply or osb it’s lack of production by norbord and egger. timber won’t be going down significantly in price.
  20. isover 140mm frame roll 32 is £13m2 inc vat today. can cavity dritherm be used in a timber frame? I don’t know tbh.
  21. yep that’s how I’m looking. Frametherm 140mm has gone through the roof- im now trying to work around that
  22. Travis are raising prices on sawn timber 25% and planed 50% or something crazy on Monday. I wasn’t listening properly in shock- they’re not honouring the price on deliveries booked for next week either.
