Stratford eb20 log burner Please Help
TonyT replied to Jblakes's topic in Stoves, Fires & Fireplaces
Don’t boiler stoves normally utilise 28mm copper pipe and run at an angle to allow for thermosyphon? More info on the pipework, any pump, pipe stats etc -
Isn’t there just one circuit of UFH off the manifold as you only have one pair of pipes as shown in the picture posted in the 3rd January

Why make your life difficult get a light fitting that has the ability to change a lamp without replastering and repainting the ceiling. time is precious enough without that.

Not really, not had a problem in 29 years of working in the building/engineering game.

On my other 2g velux windows in the original part of the house I have solar powered remote control blinds, installed 14 years ago and still working away.

Make sure you allow a cable from the immersion heater area to the PV diverter location too, or a few points incase you fancy utilising the power for various other things

Let’s be honest you can put it anywhere you want as long as the system has been designed and installed properly. At work I’ve got gas Boilers 70metres away from the cylinder and other equipment as I didn’t have space for them in the same plant room, Architects! work no problem.

Maybe a candidate for a hot water return pipe!

I purchased 10x250 watt panels £50 each.?

Your shout, I see nothing wrong in the cylinder in the garage if space is a premium just make sure it’s well insulated cylinder and garage space where it’s located. Along with insulated underground pipework. Best add spare ducts for future use while you are digging out!

The cabling needs to be adequately supported, so he could fix to the side of the timber batten and have the socket next to the batten so the cabling is in the safe zone

Do retrofit ASHPs need larger pipes to the rads?
TonyT replied to Ferdinand's topic in Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP)
MCS ASHP guidelines advises not to use microbore, imagine this new scheme will follow MCS existing paperwork? -
Yes, the cover unscrews and there will be a nut you adjust with an Allan key to adjust

I have 3 off. Triple glazed windows in my extension. Good for noise reduction too when the rains pounding against the glass. double glazed bereco windows elsewhere went for the pre finished white on the inside. no issues 3 years and counting

Just get a trowel full of mortar and fling it at the stones, it will embed itself in the nooks and crannies. then you can go over it with a second coat

What large bore Plastic Primary Pipe for ASHP?
TonyT replied to ian192744's topic in Other Heating Systems
28mm hep2o has a wall thickness of 2.75mm so that’s a fair reduction in diameter compared to 28mm copper with 0.9mm however the hep2o will come in coils, so less joins, has elasticity which will help with noise/vibration. you could buy 2 coils for a flow and return, insulate individually and then pull in, in a ‘oner’ i understand a 90 deg bend adds the equivalent of an extra 1 m of pipe. -

Can’t speak for anyone else but I regularly change between metric and imperial to describe fittings, connections and pipework. l -

Interested in hearting the replies for the post above my flow and return are 22mm but looking at ASHP connections inch and a quarter pipe is common. -
Sounds like a plan, best to get rid of unnecessary moisture. I also used a dehumidifier when I was in a similar position

Put a longer bolt in

Tried to find the thread, but looks like the site is no longer there, the info isn’t on the new website that a lot of people moved to. maybe the way back machine?
