  1. Run it internally then in a stud wall /behind a stud wall with no joins in the copper pipework

  4. What does ROW mean in this context, sorry not heard of that before?
  5. I’ve installed plenty of AC units with buried 100mm ducting to allow the insulated refrigeration pipes to be installed underground to avoid trouble spots, just make sure that they protrude above the finished floor level so that they can be sealed appropriately. what’s wrong with following the outside of the extension, popping into the house and up a pipe box or use the proprietary ducting and run external to the first floor space?
  6. I would prefer a drain connection to a pump that could go wrong and fail.. but that’s just following the KISS principles..
  7. Don’t you need CT’s around the tails too, so some sort of comms cable. I would personally install a duct from a to b to facilitate all power and comms..
  8. https://www.bes.co.uk/high-temperature-pressure-relief-pump-23745/?q=23745 what about one of these
  9. 5x2 for me then. use a https://www.screwfix.com/p/erbauer-plug-cutter-countersink-set-4-pieces/6418V?kpid=6418V&ds_kid=92700055262507123&ds_rl=1244066&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIlLSdqYCV-gIVSrDtCh2BBA07EAQYASABEgIBU_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds so drill a hole, screw down as normal, make a plug, glue plug in hole, chisel/sand flat.
  10. Cat and generator. you clip a loop from the generator around the supply cable, it induces a signal into the cable you are trying to find, the cat scanner is tuned to that signal. or just put the cat scanner on power mode to defect Cabling.
  11. Your posts are 4x4, so you want something to cover the end grain, and have a bit of reveal so 6x2 is off the shelf giving 1” either side of the post.
  12. Leave it for a bit, people take time to get used to something different. slippy with ice would be my biggest concern with slips trips and falls resulting in potential accidents. Can a handrail be added At the side of the drive to help in the winter..
  13. 6x2, with chamfer on the tops.
  14. Scrunch up newspaper, push down duct, mix up weak mortar mix and fill up. or expanding foam and weak mortar mix.
  15. that’s what I did, didn’t take long. 60m2 side extension walls made in 1 weekend and a couple of hours after work.
  16. Does the dividing wall between the garage go all the way up to the underside of the roof? is the dividing wall timber or block or brick. electrics are easy. I like rock wool insulation slabs good for soundproofing and fire proof properties
  17. You really need to decide what you want to let trades price for things, they may advise on a few things that they have picked up on the way and will be beneficial to you but watch out some may be interested in making their lives easy. if you have floors you up to rewire makes sense to add anything you think could be beneficial to save the hassle of doing this again, and once furniture etc is in place it is a hassle for you and the next trade that will just add more to deal with the hassle.
  18. Progress!! I have a dehumidifier, had some damp in the previous house, this helped solve the problem, I use it now to dry the washing in the spare room , so the dehumidifier could come in handy!!

  21. Just hire one for a bit. But it can take months to dry out just make sure you have cross ventilation
  22. You may need a condensate pump to collect and then pump condensate away.
  23. What about https://planwell.co.uk few friend have had stuff from them and no issues
  24. My high end is hardwood skirtings, doors all hand made and painted with white satin. 3m high ceilings for me too, but needed good trades to make the finish work,j just finishing defect period on a £x,xxx, xxx building and the trade finish is poor.
