  1. Decent gas boilers sized correctly with hot water priority and weather compensation would be an option if you are sticking with gas. More efficient than s or y plan
  2. So it goes on fire , burns some of the house down, insurance investigator visits sees stove measures distance to wall and goes happy days not paying out on this one! manufacturers instructions are there for a reason..
  3. Whatever the manufacturer instructions / hetas guides advise
  4. No inset so it’s all the same level
  5. Get product called lithomex. https://heritagestonemasonedinburgh.co.uk/our-work/lithomex-stone-repairs-edinburgh/
  6. Fix a 2x2 all around the perimeter and fill in to suit your plasterboard with 2x2 to catch joins, mid supports etc.
  7. Ah apologies I keep my export with OVO
  8. I’m on intelligent, 6 hours at 7.5p. sounds better than flux
  9. Most cables radiate from the wiring centre out ( expect the weather comp that’s direct to the boiler) it’s a cable into the spur, out the the spur into the wiring centre 3a fuse for the lot. you are trying to minimise joints
  10. And a 2 core to the outdoor sensor for weather compensation direct from the boiler
  11. Run 100 m if you want no reg to say otherwise
  12. Run a 5 core flex from the wiring centre to the boiler label at boiler to say isolation at wiring centre or if it’s on its own circuit breaker/rcbo. Another isolation point
  13. No need for a 3 pole isolator. the fcu is the only isolator required. any thoughts for the boiler on its own circuit?
  14. what happens when it expands and contracts and starts to make a noise?
  15. I have these at work for my joiner when on the saw ripping wood, sweats like a sweaty thing!! Then takes them off when I leave. I recently did some work in my loft and set up a decent workshop hepa filter hoover. no black snot, no sweaty head success. And you get to use it as a workshop-garage-car hoover afterwards so more than one use
  16. Allow for a drain connection/ floor drain makes life so much easier for maintenance
  17. Exactly what I said coax is piss poor, and use sat cable😀
  18. If space dictates it needs to go there I would build a room around it all to keep it in a heated envelope. Pipes passing through walls should be sleeved and a suitable intumescent sealer will the pipes be beneath the floor?
  19. Flow cup and measure the flow?
  20. Don’t use coax. Use sat cable. Coax is piss poor
  21. Yes agree I have a 47mm deep double pattress or 47mm metal box as I always fit the larger switch.
  22. Usually less effort in ensuring tightness, by those that think the line/live is the priority.
  23. Let me think. Cut the plug off and fit a normal 13 amp plug with no extra strain relief.. a bog standard plug..
  24. Cut that plug off and fit a normal 13 amp plug
