https://www.greenwayenergyltd.co.uk/product-page/samsung-16kw-monoblock That's inc vat. Is this a RHI installation? Is that grant and samsung price installed, do you already have a oil tank?
-
I presume the existing supply is just a 2.5 of the rings main for the gas ignitor. Practically its doable as one end of the conduit is the cellar and its straight up into the center of the island no bends.

This is mainly aimed @Nickfromwales & @ProDave . A friend has a small problem when upgrading their hob. She has changed it from a 5 burner gas hob to single gas burner 5 induction hob with the existing work top being cut bigger (so old hob can't go back) . Hob is on a island with a concrete floor I think we can all see where this is going.... apart from the kitchen guy who supplied the original kitchen and both hobs who has now washed his hands of the problem. The new hob does not have a big enough electrical supply, at the moment she can use the gas and one electrical hob. Only solution I can come up with is replace the 15mm gas pipe with a 10mm copper pipe with PVC coating and sneak in a 6mm electrical cable aswell this is in a 2m long conduit (plastic water pipe). What's the regs view on this?

I dont think I have any one particular tool that's revolutionized my DIY but I have a few tools that been extremely good purchases:- Laser Cordless Drill Exactly as CPD says with foam gun, never used gun cleaner either.
-
Still on 1st gun, approx 2 years and 24 cans of foam.

It was a quick search, I came across a supplier on ebay and he was directing me to his web page who was selling LG and samsung ashps.
-
At that figures I would be doing a DIY, just came across a samsung 9kw monoblock plus control box for £2600 inc vat.
-
Agree with the above regarding split v monobloc, only benefit I can see for split set up if ashp is located a long distance away from property. Depending on the amount of RHI payment I dont think the price is far of. If you have time to spec system and do a bit of easy work yourself ie install the UFH pipe yourself and sub in a decent plumber when needed you can cut a lot of that 17k maybe even half it.

Big fan of uponor mlcp (not pex) and uponor mlcp can be adjusted without specialist equipment (pipe cutter, bevelling tool and correct fittings) Is it a RHI installation?
-
I believe uponor make emmeiti pipe, if they still do then it's best stuff on the market.

We have had good service from a small petrol pramac (Honda engine).

No question on DIY shuttering cheaper but our 300mm core icf was nothing like £150m2, if it was that I wouldn't have used it!
-
Anybody looked at ICF for a retaining wall, most manufactures produce up to 300mm concrete core and some even more. Certainly possible to DIY & a lot cheaper than any of the figures above.

I always thought low/under counter ovens in commercial kitchens where more for better use for space than health and safety (door open trip hazard?), new purpose built commercial kitchens I more see waist height ovens on a frame even with casters (can be moved for cleaning) . I won't be swapping my heavy pans any time soon, I was watching a made in Britain program a few days ago and they where at netherton foundry looking at spun iron pans I was very impressed!

I have always had gas, but after a visiting a cook school I was very impressed. I am seriously thinking about adding a domino gas job in utility or garage for some cooking .

Very good reading. There is also a treatment on the underside of zinc now to prevent this, I don't know if I would trust this as long term solution.
-
I used to do repairs on behalf of the rangemaater group... I done pretty well out of it! On a plus side They where pretty efficient with sending the part out to us before 1st visit.

Only started a few days ago but having a problem with the seaming machine. Will post a few photos today. -
Most places will do a spec (ie 8 port manifold 800m pipe etc) free of charge and then supply the drawings after you buy the material, but if wunda will supply spec and drawings for £50 and you are free to shop around I think this a pretty good deal.
-
Does wunda supply the drawings or just the spec?

I've got a hole I no longer need : well 3 actually

If you need to buy sbr, TP £29 plus vat. Screwfix £22 inc vat and Ebay £14 with vat receipt. -
1. What heat output do you require, what distance are your joists apart? 2. You need to control the temperature of the water in the loop so you normally use a manifold with a temperture mixer valve but you do get single room mixer kits. 3. You can connect directly to boiler but high chance boiler will short cycle esp on a single zon, a decent heating engineer will best advise when they see existing set up.
-
Can you supply more info on the film?

Standing charge 25p and day rate 14.8p which is pretty good. Good point with the thermal store v UVC but with this system a thermal store better (log asification boiler) Big house with pretty high base loads.
