You got a valid point with pv but I think we are going to use most of our PV (cut to 3.68kw at inverter) with our base load ie mvhr, hot water tap, fridges etc with any extra imersion dump for any excess pv. But with a 5p kwh off peak surely it would be worthwhile boosting thermal store (plenty of hot water for morning showers) etc with this? I need my mobile on 24/7 and usually charge it at night while sleeping. Edit. Just worked out how much to charge phone every night. Ditch that idea.

Starting to look at electric tariffs for the new build and have came across the octopusgo tariff with 4 hours off peak per night which would suit as very well. Any simple ideas/solution could I use to maximise the off peak 1. Run ASHP to recharge thermal store (possibly on higher temp?) 2. Use time delay for overnight usage on dish washer & washing machine 3. Charge EV 4. Cheap mechanical timers on charging devices ie laptop, mobile phone etc Missing anything?

Got a little proble that I didnt see coming. The green of the glass in the windows has a bad reaction with the colour of the kitchen when the sun is shining. Is there anything I can do to cut this ie film on the glass or a day blind etc?

Our concrete is generally dirty (plaster, paint etc) any tips or chests for cleaning it before we tile?

As PeterW says work out the size you need first and work from there. I also picked my up one of Ebay and shopped around for ducting mainly baulberg as I found them the cheapest.

Designing Mvhr in/pricing

I still have connections to a plumbing business so i played on this but it was very straight forward. If you have a sparkie or plumber maybe then can help you out. -
The tritech T4 looks a direct rival to the graco 390. I think the graco 390 inc del & import tax for US$900 (£710) is a pretty good deal.

Ceiling Heights - different from 2.4m
Alexphd1 replied to Kate12's topic in General Construction Issues
Standard plaster comes in 2.4, 2.7 and 3m. Plus 1 for high ceilings. We have 2.9m so cut off a 10cm of the 3m plaster. -
My sprayer is on wheels, i find them clumsy esp when you are working just yourself. I would prefer just moving the pick up tube.

Have you had a look on American fleebay (ebay.com)? There was a few selling new machines back when I was looking around, I have bought a lot of dewalt power tools that way.

Vegas baby... now your talking!

I presume site insurance is for 12 months? If so its seams a decent quote. I think the 10 year warranty is needed for a morgatge (nothing to do with build control), also think of if you sell within 10 years and the buyer needs a morgatge they will need a warranty up to 10 years from build completion. We didnt bother with the warranty.

Can I wire a plug to a internal circulating pump?
Alexphd1 replied to gravelld's topic in Electrics - Other
Yes no problem. We have done exactly this to get heat into slab from log boiler and ST until our controls are installed. -
Possibly block on side?

It's the mark v. Oversized for just spraying it can also spray plaster!!

There was a really good thread over on greenbuild forum that give you a set u-value and the thickness of different kinds of insulation eps, xps pur etc) and a rough cost. Think the uvalues where 0.2, 0.15 and 0.1.

Normally if you see "pro" on a power tool it's usually the DIY version?
-
I have no 1st hand experience of that machine but it looks like top of the range DIY version and it's pretty expensive. I took a punt on a very cheap second hand graco machine but it was recked so needed a rebuild. It was pretty expensive rebuild but I have ended up with a almost new machine at 2nd hand value (inc rebuild cost). I think if I was in your shoes i would keep a eye out for a good condition 2nd small commercial machine or rent one for a week. Sprayplantuk are about £120 for a week hire. A small graco (graco is just a make there are other equally good makes) hold their value pretty well.

Does anybody know what cable connection this is? It's of a miele extractor and runs between the motor/fan and ceiling extractor. It has 457853 stamped on the cable. It wound be handy if I could buy a 4m Male female extension to extend the cable. Miele not very helpful.
