@Declan52 It's a 270l tank, there's piccies upthread a bit. It was quoted as a very high recovery coil and that seems to be the case alright I'll get a photo of the unit installed later, but it's still a bit lashed-in for now, insulation to finish and the unit levelled etc.

It's an ESR, Clive anRCD2-80100T. Evidently built down to a price...

fitting is easy, especially if you don't need to extend the 5m pre-wired sensors and controller. I did run into one slight problem, the inverter has shown the RCD out at the meter box to be dodgy. it's a 100mA type-S but was tripping out when the compressor was started. I rechecked it with the multifunction tester and while the circuit's RCBO is tripping correctly at 30mA and holding in fine, the type-S is going at under 80mA so something aint right with it. I've linked it out for now... Software seems simple enough, there are a couple of fan and pump modes I want clarification about, and I didn't have any hassle getting into the hidden installer menu. Performance? So far... 4c ambient yesterday, thermal store raised from under 30c to 55c in about an hour and a half, which confirms it's 7kW+ in these conditions. I've left it on overnight at a setpoint of 26c for the slab, and my chinesium wifi stat is telling me that the hall is now at 14c and rising, from the 9c it started off at yesterday

yep, it's used for removing bonded car windscreens too.

the TF guys did the walls and round the openings, I did all the ceilings and slopes... OK so I'm doing something a wee bit odd for the CH/DHW. I'm using a 270l manual-fill thermalstore, direct to the boiler stove and indirect to the ASHP etc. Makes the boiler stove a useful member of society and means I can heat the whole house during a power failure just by running a couple of CH pumps. And yes, outages aren't that unusual round here apparently. Also means I can use the bottom quarter of the tank as a buffer.

using that logic, why heat the water at all, it's wasting energy to so do...

Blower door test done this morning. Waiting for calculated results, but the fact that the fan needed four of the eight plugs refitted to the range plate apparently means we're pretty good.

not a wee pun, just a wee Ulsterism. @Dreadnaught I anticipate running it's drain into the basin drain through a clamp-on appliance tapping https://www.bes.co.uk/single-self-cutting-washing-machine-waste-6957/

you build it @ProDave, we'll fit it...

transformer on the other side of a wall would be fine

No, just a wee battery powered low current valve, switched by a motion sensor. this kinda thng, but I'm looking for one with adjustable timing. Most do two short pulses, some are variable https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32848350151.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.4fe43820q2WQ3f&algo_pvid=1cbe2c9a-6d06-4c72-850b-1f700474f92a&algo_expid=1cbe2c9a-6d06-4c72-850b-1f700474f92a-46&btsid=2100bdd816117404856013770e9c73&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_

I'm considering using a urinal PIR sensor/valve to dump the contents of the line to drain when you walk in.

I'm of that mind that if you don't let it run CONTINUOUSLY for about three days you don't actually know what it's doing. Cost and noise be darned, at least you could say you'd done it then.

this keeps being repeated, but is it actually true? Not in the case of the gypsum Hemihydrate product we used.

going a touch off-piste for that- https://coolenergyshop.com/collections/inverter-heat-pump/products/cool-energy-invertech-ivt9-air-source-heat-pump-ce-ivt9 the full suite of Carel control gear rather than the normal Chinesium-looking fayre swung it fo me.

the insulating powder in the elements is hygroscopic. Same with Pyro cable.

Is the meter connected the right way round? the LED should flash during the day and be on constant overnight.
-
Can't be bothered, so maybe @zoothorn can confirm for us? And maybe take some nice piccies of how all the kit is sited in the room???
-
but it's not AFAIK, I think we discussed it's siting months back on another thread?
