  1. planning will tell you what they require. dont offer up anything!
  2. so if you have a quote from BT for over £2k then email it to your BCO and claim the exemption. You can use normal coiled ducting for copper wires.
  3. dont kill all services you are going to need them and no fun paying twice. Keep the electric and water, just move them out of the way for footings.
  4. as long as the eaves and ridge are open to allow air flow will be fine. How did you seal up the warm roof out of interest ?
  5. utter nonsense. Lockdown was idiotic, achieved nothing but kill off load of people who didn't have a mild cold/covid but did have cancer/hear disease etc. The very worst cases of covid were nearly all due to other underlying issues anyway. Rules were nonsense for example you could sit without a mask to eat but stand up ? Goto jail or be fined. Masks were pointless otherwise zero doctors and nurses would have caught it right as they all wear them ? Just a gimmick to make the sheep think they were actually doing their bit. Virtually every single decision the gov made was the wrong one, from curfews to paying people to eat out. In fact if they had done the exact opposite in most cases we would be in a much better position now. Should have carried on as normal and managed the sad cases where a lot of already unhealthy people were impacted worse. This group of people could have voluntarily locked themselves down if they wished while the rest of the country carried on.
  6. if its not built to the agreed spec just reject it. Not like its a cheap ikea job you can hack around to make work.
  7. if your building is 1m or less to boundary external fire rags apply. limiting size of normal glazing and having to fireproof gutter/cladding/facia etc. mega bag of worms.
  8. definitely a static. cheaper, more room and you can maybe sell it after.
  9. the mrs wont thank you when its wet. makes a terrible mess.
  10. how many m2 ?
  11. mdf liners much better.
  12. you could allways just buy the joint box BT use for fibre and fit it to the house. Not as if building control are going to plug a laptop in to test it...
  13. subbies. 2 sides to every story mind.
  14. good luck getting a decision by end of october.
  15. you have to accept the FTTP connection for the new Part R building regs. BT charge a standard £2000 for the service. Used to be able to just have copper but not anymore. Log into the portal, upload your plans etc. They will send an invoice. pay it and they will free issue you the ducting and tell you where they need it routing too.
  16. XPS hell of a lot cheaper for better U value, more build up though.
  17. 100mm ?
  18. LABC have a free library of most details. https://www.labc.co.uk/professionals/registration-schemes/registered-construction-details
  19. use a rest bend at the head of the run and a swept T (not a normal T) for the second one.
  20. https://www.screwfix.com/c/screws-nails-fixings/self-drilling-screws/cat840204
  21. you could not have the top flasing but it wont look very good as there is no support to kick the tiles up so they wouldnt line up with the tiles either side. Definitely need side flashing though.
  22. non standard construction = £££££££
  23. from some of the appeals ive read, non determination is not a bad route. The inspector forces the council to respond to the application. Can also ask for costs.
  24. ring them up and say you can see turds in the ditch. you will have a free onsite visit in under half an hour. Then you can pick their brains....
